  1. I don’t see what people think they gain by showing disrespect at this point. Looked at objectively, the death of the Queen yesterday is the biggest step forward to the abolition of of the monarchy that has ever occurred. Keep the heid, bury the childishness, bide your time.
  2. The country will go temporarily insane for a few weeks a la the death of Diana.
  3. Agree with this. I suspect the stories about the attractiveness and worth of the OF to the EPL mainly originate north of the border.
  4. I take it that you favour the death penalty and think that the penal system should be solely for punishment and not reform (like the man in your avatar)? The actual offence, that took place 11 years ago, made for grim reading in terms of his behaviour on the night of the assault. The last I read, he had re-united with his girlfriend (who was present at the time of the offence and subject to verbal abuse) and bough a flat with her. The guy who he had assaulted had no desire to proceed with the prosecution and put it down to a one off drunken mistake. There would be concern if there were repeats in his behaviour, but it seems not. https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/278746/Assault-player-turned-life-around-by-coaching-kids
  5. I watched the Keith Richards episode of the Stones documentaries on the BBC last night. He mentioned how intros were important to him. Gimme Shelter was the one he picked out. They had a load of decent intros. Alternative Ulster is a good one. London Calling - The Clash Geno - Dexys Won’t Get Fooled Again - The Who The Intro & The Outro - The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band
  6. Highland neighbours? I am guessing that you didn’t teach geography GG? 😄 Buckie will have their tails up after last Saturday. The road to cup upsets is littered with 3rd tier Scottish teams underestimating Highland League opponents. A couple of early goals would be good.
  7. When I read that Dundee United almost got relegated in the late 70s, it made me think how fine the margins can be. Would he have survived had they been relegated? Not many managers survive taking a club into a relegation battle these days after starting the season.
  8. A bit of an undertaking, 100 questions. I estimate I would have scraped double figures. The first three names I would have typed are Michael Caine, Pelé and Ally McCoist. I hope it is not too much of a spoiler to confirm if Andy Smith was on the list?
  9. The if Euro 21 had not already laid that fact bare (the England game was an outstanding performance coupled with good luck), the Ukraine result (plus Denmark away) certainly did. Scotland have moved from being a third rate side to being a bottom end second rate side. That is an improvement, but Clarke is just doing about as well as could be expected with the group of players that he has. There are two possibilities for further improvement - the squad improves when some better class players appear to augment the pool. Alternatively, the current squad somehow pull off freak result after freak result against better opposition and don’t screw up against other teams. I am not too bothered about the Irish result. These things happen.
  10. £ow£and £eague. Greedy southern sheightbags.
  11. Qualifying for one championship, getting to the play offs of another after spending years with not a sniff of anything.
  12. Another reality check. Scotland are certainly improving, but there were a few class acts in the Ukrainian team.
  13. Quite happy to have have nothing to do with the Qatar debacle.
  14. Believe me, not a phrase that you often hear in Moray.
  15. It is amazing how Bob Paisley gets forgotten about. Klopp will be within touching distance of his three European cups. Still a few league championships and a UEFA cup to go.
  16. On a related matter, I think Elg*n should be forced into changing their name to Elg*n Town. And Brechin.
  17. If you narrow it down to hooliganism, clearly Rangers record going back 50 years is there to see (although they will have disappointed many smug finger pointers last night). There are many other measures however. Two cheeks of the same @rse, both clubs and fans.
  18. That would have been the case with Celtic fans moving in similar numbers. The test will be in Seville.
  19. I really hope that they do behave. Firstly, for the sake of the people of Seville. Secondly, to puncture the smug self righteousness of the Celtic support, who in so many ways, are no better than Rangers. I am more optimistic than I was about Manchester with regards behaviour, but not convinced. Good behaviour at least would signal, in a very small way, that their support may be finally moving out of the dark ages.
  20. By that do you mean the spending won’t ramp up in the same way it did at Cove?
  21. With only two coastal towns present, perhaps it is time to ditch the moniker Seaside League. Not sure about favourites. What is the situation with Kelty? Will they be stepping up the investment?
