  1. Welcome back SP. Edit: I have just realised the double meaning in this post. Whilst Stewart Petrie would be welcome also, I was referring to the post author in this instance.
  2. It seemed inevitable from the time Thomas scored.
  3. Condolences to Marc and the family.
  4. I have won it also a couple of times.
  5. I put my aversion to the presenters - or rather the contrived chat - down to age and a generally dour demeanour on my part. It seems that may not necessarily be the case. I will still watch it, probably on demand so that the fast forward can be used. The film segments make it worthwhile.
  6. I assume Grant signed him based on the West Brom connection and not the evidence available from his time at Dundee.
  7. I never watched the clip and took @Piracy ‘s response to mean that Grant was blaming Ben Crawford for the team’s current predicament. Duh!
  8. I hope that those who have booked can get refunds. Especially if they are booked to stay in E***n. Disappointed to an extent as with living back up here it would have been my first Pars game for a while. Otherwise, happy not to go to E***n and to take in the Mechanics game instead.
  9. Innovative but utterly ruthless, he enabled the fabled excesses of the 1970s music industry by diverting the huge profits of record companies towards the artists (and hangers on). There is some uncomfortable reading in the book. Being closer to the punk generation, I was never in awe of the decadence of the early 70s. Recent welcome changes in social attitudes make some of the behaviour seem even more of an aberration, but the music still stands up. On balance an entertaining read and scarcely believable at times.
  10. In black And white His managerial skills are s***e He’s Peter Grant He’s Peter Grant
  11. The best manager of a part time team over the last two years against someone who wasn’t (I am not suggesting we should have opted for Campbell). What exactly did Grant achieve in his last job? Perhaps next week he can field his fabled ****ing CV in goals since it is apparently so impressive.
  12. Chris Iwelumo repeated four times “it can’t happen in this day and age, it just can’t!” Unlike the unfortunate fans in the ground, I feel blessed that at home, I benefit from such illumination. As it happens, the problem has been caused by a WiFi failure. The problem has happened precisely because it is this day and age. My only question, why is there no override of some sort, as a back up to relying on a WiFi connection? I guess I will find out in the coming days. The ticketing was screwed also.
  13. Sadly, on the evidence so far, Dorrans to do for us what Dorrans did for Dundee. Had that worked out they wouldn’t have bothered signing Adam.
  14. The Nisbet to Celtic move has become more likely in the last couple of days given that Celtic are probably going to have to punt one striker soon.
  15. Nikolay TODorov Son of Nikolay Todorov. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikolay_Todorov_(footballer,_born_1964)
  16. Utterly mad period. Once the share issue proposal got kicked out I recall the idea of a informal bond issue getting floated on dot net (ie pay the club’s short term bills in exchange for a worthless bit of paper). There was also the lifetime season ticket for £10k a pop. Desperate stuff.
  17. I did notice that. I was wondering if you cheered the equaliser.
  18. You need to open your own account, then send the details to whoever sent the mail "Hello Pars Club......" We all got one - but if I remember last year, some of them went into spam folders for some people.
  19. I agree with it looking like a way to reel folk in.
  20. Nothing to do with your woeful scoring this season of course....? The odds coming up don’t bother me and I m not sure if we will be among the prizes anyway. Like anything that is free online there is always going to be a commercial angle.
  21. I have noticed this coming up each week. Given last weeks selection were all English lower league, the odds that I got for my picks were around 615/1. It was reflected in my score.
  22. Celtic have been unavailable as long as I have been doing it. We quickly need a couple of form teams in League 1 and a replacement for Brechin in the Championship.
  23. It did sound odd at first that Paisley was in for it, but I assume that part of the reason for the City of Culture title is to act as a catalyst for regeneration. Glasgow was European City of Culture a few years back. I am not sure how big a part it played in changing Glasgow's image, but I think it has changed. There was always a decent amount of cultural activity in Glasgow, whether music, art or writing, but it was buried beneath an image associated with heavy industry, alcohol, violence and bigotry.
