  1. Not sure why he featured so high in the reckoning either.
  2. I was unaware about the ex lifeline chairman being done for that, not ideal.
  3. With him signing a new contract at Montrose it's fair to say he wouldn't have been interested? I'm still adamant Levein and McIntyre would've been better choices.
  4. I don't take much interest as a rule in post match interviews, there's a nonsense by and large. I'm sure, and I hope he doesn't beleive everything he's said there.
  5. Hughes apparently saying on sportsoubd that could be the best thing to happen to us. Christ.
  6. Never heard this before? I presume that it's Shields who isn't liked (going by the learning on the job comment), he always talked a good game.
  7. You're not wrong, if you don't have a midfield (which we don't) you don't try and play through the midfield. Unless your John Hughes.
  8. Soon? Reckon its already pretty clear tbh.
  9. Bloody hell what praise! That's four. Glad we've got such a good manager as Yogi, hopefully he does another couple of funny interviews to placate the support and board.
  10. They got us a win at Inverness and by all accounts would've had a big say in how we played against Ayr. I'd be happy to have them until the end of the season.
  11. Like, having a style of play based around possession, with no width so you're putting all the emphasis on your centre midfielders to have quick, incisive passes to create chances. When you've got Allan, Pybus and Todd as your centre midfield? Again, not a surprise to literally anyone who had a single bit of interest in Scottish football. So if you were on here championing this absolute joke of appointment don't have the bare faced cheek to complain about the board appointing him, this is exactly how this was going to turn out. Just utterly fed up with the cycle of absolutely dreadful decisions that we make as a club, we get taken in by anyone who comes across as a good laugh in an interview, fed up.
  12. Here's the thing, every man and there dog complaining about the midfield being rubbish and not being up to task. The way Hughes has set this team up requires the centre of midfield to be the strongest part of the team, again this isn't a surprise, it's what Hughes has always done, so please, no nonsense about Hughes not being to blame.
  13. Having three of our best strikers on the bench. Onky to play Steven Lawless who complained to the press about playing centrally, as a second striker. John Hughes everyone.
  14. Will it? Was it the same director who's lumbered us with Hughes on such a long contract? Better hope it's got a release clause. If we weren't in such dire straights it'd be funny seing all the fans who thought Hughes was the best thing since sliced bread, perform such mental gymnastics to try and absolve Hughes of all blame.
  15. 2 down. Can't say I'm shocked by how this Hughes appointment is going, yet again we've been taken in by a managers bluster and bull****.
  16. That's not ideal. We are so, so, so, so, boring to watch.
  17. Appointed as Ayr manager, can't help but feel a bit jealous.
  18. Was hoping we'd be looking at Gogic, he'd be ideal. Can take heart from the caliber of the clubs targets.
  19. Aye, in Yogis interview it seems he got homesick because he wasn't playing... Not that he wanted away so he got dropped.
  20. I have no idea how good Jones is tbf, only seem him once at Ayr where the defence was hung out to dry, whether he is, or isn't good enough though we're still paying him a wage, and realistically how good do you expect your fourth choice cb to be? I get what you're saying with Mattin, but likewise we'll have signed him with the expectation that he can step up, I'm sure Martin wants too aswell! I get that he doesn't seem like the flavour of the month but I genuinely reckon Breen could come good, he looked decent at this level with QoTS and he's certainly got the physical characteristics to make it. If we're going to develop players etc we need to give them time.
  21. Have a look at the civil court case, he's a horrible bloke.
  22. Three out really with Graham, Gaspuitis and (potentially) Connolly away. However we have brought in Martin and Donaldson. Which leaves us with Breen, Donaldson, Martin and Jones as senior centre backs, if we're being honest we had too many centre backs competing for two positions so that seems about right tbf.
  23. Was going to start a thread asking this, but how low would you let the club go with regards to signing players? This window is seems likely that Goodwillie, Watson and Gardyne will find clubs. For me Goodwillie is too far, I fully agreed with Watson being released from us, and we obviously can't re sign him, however I wouldn't judge another club signing him, and the way that Gardyne left ICT is also pretty horrible, however I'd also sign him! Cracking player, dubious individual.
  24. Donaldson already has surely? He's not came in to sit on the bench. I'd agree that if Connolly was getting directly replaced by Lok On then it'd seem to be a big downgrade, as it is I don't think we're any weaker really. There's an argument to be made that with no Gaspuitis we could do with a 3rd/backup centre back, but with Martin and Jones would we be better investing that money elsewhere?
