Surface Agent X20
I would recommend this. If you can read and watch telly at the same time.It is the most expensive non-english TV series ever, but after two episodes I am hooked.1929 Weimar Republic. Police, Commies, Seedy nightclub owners, Female dancers (ahem), Seriously, some brilliant acting. I imagine the Nazis will not be far away. Fu_Manchu
I can read and watch telly at the same time but don't have Sky, so I will give it a miss.
Salvo Montalbano
Thought the trailer looked quite interesting but I wasn't sure if I'd like it. I do love a foreign language TV show though. Obviously Inspecto Montalbano is up there but if you can track down 1992 (another Italian series) I'd recommend that - it's excellent. It's all about the rise of Silvio Berlusconi although he's barely in it, and touches on politics, TV, sport, advertising, the building and construction industry, police, murder and corruption. It really is very good. A sequel (1993, obviously) is coming soon and I can't wait.
