donj
He reminds me of Harold Wilson a bit.A guy who is actually a bit too nice. What labour need is him with a tad harder edge.At least he is real old style labour.

SanguinePar
he is fantastic in opposition but the gy has never had to actually make policies even when his party has been in office hehas rebelled against them , he will never be in No. 10 though the Labour Party would of chucked him by now The fact that they haven't suggests he may be a bit more of a streetfighter than people give him credit for. I reckon that when time comes to lay into the Tory record (not that there's ever a bad time) he'll do a good job of attacking Cameron et al. People mock his "man-of-the-people" stuff, but I'm not sure anyone doubts that there's truth to it, that he does have a better connection with real life than the Eton boys currently running the country. The trick will be to leverage that into a popular movement against austerity's extremes and the rich guys imposing them and show that there's a realistic other way. AdamAntsParsStripe
Problem is, this isn't pre 80's Britain where the vast majority of people were relatively on the same level socially and financially. The country is split more than ever and being a champion of the working class will most definitely see him unelectable. The Labour left only want him to change the party from within while they live in cloud cuckoo land that he'll lead them to election victory. He doesn't stand a hope in hell and we will have a Tory gov for the next 9 years at the very minimum.
