  1. It’s really good that the club are trying new things, and this has potential to be an excellent event for local people, many of whom may not be pars fans.
  2. Reality is Livingstons core support is around the 1000-1500 mark. Even when they were “flying high” they’d never do much more than 2000 home season tickets. The stadium is far too big for what they need, so they are where they are. Much rather folk from there support their local team than either of the two Edinburgh ones, or worse the Glasgow ones.
  3. Not too worried about Airdrie, that’ll be them on the slide similar to Morton. A win tomorrow for us and it really does show momentum on our side and suggests we are coming into form at just the right time.
  4. That is a superb win. Absolutely gold stuff. Well done boys.
  5. Kind of game we need to win if any ambition to be in playoffs at right end of the league. Probably our strongest line up and bench this season…?
  6. Absolutely Tartan Army Par. They are hugely physical and will be thumping balls into the channels and into our box. Bene being available for this is huge, as is having Otoo and Hamilton in midfield. I hope there will be better protection for Mehmet as we know if they do go direct on top of him it could be a long afternoon. They may still have no Oakley which makes this a very winnable game, but it looks like they are hoping he’s back for this. I really hope we go all out to win this and not be a turgid “aim not to lose” performance, as this is a chance to really put down a marker as to which play offs we are aiming for. Probably not a better chance to get at this Morton team, and give them a good slap back for what they did to us last month.
  7. There’s a real pleasure to be had when watching your team put on a show on TV in a pub when you’re not in Scotland. Gives you a right good glow. ☺️ United will win this league, and so they should, they have the best players. We utterly did them last night, they were ****e because we made them so. So pleased for McPake, and he finally out and said it re injuries and the impact. I’ve been saying it for long enough, last season he had options and some of his best work done was in changing games with personnel. He simply hasn’t had that much of that this season. And that’s really exposed his weaknesses and stubbornness. Doesn’t make him a bad manager, like many he will struggle when he doesn’t have the tools. Now he does so it’s a bit more of an even playing field for him. But a note of caution - coming up are Morton who are a very different kettle of fish. Their physical attributes and style have much more of a challenge to us than Uniteds style. Should we perform like last night then we will win, but if Morton get under our skin then it’s a problem. Good news is Oakley will be out injured for them which is a huge miss. Time for that late promotion play off run now… 😉
  8. brilliant discussion all, and everyone doing it in the right way - some great reads. and @SanguinePar I doff my cap, that poor wee quote button 😁
  9. Thanks to both @Digs and @Piracy for their comprehensive notes. Getting this info when so far away is really useful and gives me some comfort.
  10. You mean Friday night Dave? 🙂
  11. Yes, and has been since. My point is in support that he would be a starter if fully fit. 🙂
  12. Fisher played in the 0-0 at Tannadice, then was missing for the two disasters at home. Since coming in Kane is undefeated as a Pars player. Two definite starters if fully fit for me.
  13. That made me chuckle, oh those happy days. 🫣 In seriousness - I do think it is worse now, especially with the behaviour of prominent people and organisations on social media who do things for reactions. Or indeed those who behave in certain ways to get a reaction on social media. Regardless I hope those who have done this are caught and banned.
  14. Unfortunately @Digs I don’t think it is us all getting auld, society has and is changing. It’s much more divided, intense, reactionary as it ever was. Social media has a huge impact, as does those who use social media as a way to whip up the worst in mob mentality, including organisations. Sometimes they do it in a corporate guise with subtle ways, knowing fine well what they’re doing without any accountability for impact. This then leads to the behaviour we’ve seen. It’s not exclusive to our club or indeed football by any means, but unfortunately it’s individuals within our support that are being highlighted.
  15. It’s just coz you’re tall 😂
  16. Thanks for this. It’s appreciated especially for those of us out the country who are watching on (and supporting) from afar. It has been a very concerning season on and off the park.
  17. I’m trying to choose my words carefully here, this result, and the contrasting fortunes of our local rivals to us, are a damning indictment of those entrusted to run our club. They should be embarrassed and ashamed.
  18. Hahahahaha miserable and underwhelmed is generally a state for all pars fans. 😃. Hopefully more joyous and fun loving by 5pm… 🤞
  19. KRH starting must at least get the plums luke warm?
  20. Well one things for sure, don’t expect a goal fest 😶
  21. We need to start with our strongest team in their most natural positions. It sounds so simple but think this might be the first time this season we’ve been able to do that throughout the team, so do it.
  22. I’m really struggling to see how you can blame Mehmet for the second goal. That for me is not a goalies ball to come for. Loads of backspin and height on it, it’s 12 yards from his line, the defence hasn’t pushed out effectively enough meaning they’re pretty deep on him - and it’s an awful clearance from MWH. Hes had some criticism in the past and it’s been deserved, but for me those two goals are not on him, both are defensive errors/sloppiness.
  23. Just watched the goals. Defensively so poor at the first one. No one tracking the wide runner, who was then given far too much room to make the cross. Harsh to say that Mehmet should come for that as the height that was catchable/reachable was well beyond far post - Edwards gets beaten by Todorov in the air. Stop the cross, stop the goal. Second one is a good finish. Chalk up another one for the season for Todorov who while wasn’t my favourite, he did have a habit of being an impact when we needed to change style. Accept he was utter mince when we played them earlier in season, but so was that full Airdrie team. Could think of a few games this season where him being in the squad for us would have made a significant difference. At the time he was the only one released who I was pretty on the fence with. Suspect if McPake had more idea of the difficulty he’d face bringing in a replacement, he may well have kept todorov for another year. Just how important has Chris Kane become to us?
  24. All this optimism is giving me the fear, the utter fear. 3-2 win.
