  1. Yes. I would lol. Think I said before on here that if that was to miraculously happen, the clubs social media should have a field day. Make them feel really small for their continuous nonsense over the year.
  2. Just get a fk in win FFS. there yer team talk 😂
  3. I got on my flight and they were 2-0 up. Near full on lol’d when I saw they’d chucked it. Couldn’t happen to a better collection of utter chunts. Plus gives Arbroath some oomph to beat other sides that will end up helping us out.
  4. Correct Grant, what we don’t know, is how much of the loss this year is down to Capital Expenditure related to this project, if any.
  5. Giving them a slight benefit of the doubt, I read that bit about the playoffs and just thought it was a budget explanation of expectations? It was almost meant as a throw away comment (income budget based on 19 games rather than 18 as assumption of finishing in playoffs) and I just thought it should be treated as such. Any time I’ve budgeted a business that’s what you do, you understand where you think you’re going to be performance wise and budget accordingly. Then when reviewing the P&L you compare and contrast trading to give the numbers some detail. It’s not the best worded statement that’s for sure, but by Christ we’ve had a lot worse in the past! When investors are brought in, we lose a bit of control/understanding/involvement in the financial side. We were a fan owned club (in the loosest terms) and collectively those in control of shares voted for this investment, as it was seen that the fan owned model we had was no longer fit. Ultimately the investors will have control, and it’s up to them to do what they want. Thats the trade off for no longer having that control. Ross McArthur was rightly lauded by many for his work, and it was him that’s brought these guys on board saying, he pinched himself due to how good they were, surely he wasn’t wrong? One thing I did find comforting in a way, was Kieran Maguires tweet, he’s generally very good and quick to raise any alarms for clubs where he sees dodgy stuff, and he hasn’t done so in his brief review. I do think a Q&A would be of use, to at least give the wider fan base some comfort that this is part of the plan, investors still committed etc. The breakdown of accounts is so vague that you can’t even understand wages v turnover or capex costs, or grasp any other income sources and their timings (Nisbet money for example), so we’re all guessing. What we do know is that a £1 million loss no matter how it’s dressed up should be an alarming moment, and if the board and investors know anything about our fan base at all, they should know that we’ll need a truck load more of discussion than a couple of pishy paragraphs to flap that away without big concerns remaining.
  6. I think having Jakubiak and Moffat able to come off the bench with Kane up top meant the ball stuck far better in the right areas of the pitch in the closing period of the game. We were then able to give the defence and midfield breathing space and time (along with that all important confidence).
  7. Yes. If true, I heard With some pretty disparaging and bleak commentary on some names. Some of whom they will certainly need onside for the next few weeks. All will not be well there very soon.
  8. The text I received (whether it’s true or not) asserted that maybe someone needs to take Barrowman, Potter and Murray through a basic IT session on how to share screens in the right rooms, particularly pertinent when discussing recruitment, player attributes and … player disposals… #youbelong (until you don’t)
  9. And this. In midfield with the right players beside him, he is an absolute revelation.
  10. Been saying it all season. The moment we get some quality on the bench, is when McPake is able to actually do his job. Jakubiak and Moffat coming on yesterday stretched and pinned Thistle right back and made it a comfortable win in the end. He was able to do similar a lot last season. Feel our way into the game in the first half, and then change it, personnel shifts - bang there’s the win. Our recent poor run in my opinion has been purely down to the lack of numbers and the hamstringing of the manager who has been unable to squeeze any more out such a tight group. Now is the time for him to prove himself with this squad at this level and push right on up to the end. Well done to the team.
  11. Absolutely this. Hamilton and Otoo in the centre of midfield make this team top end not bottom end of the league. well done lads, rode our luck but won convincingly in the end.
  12. ****. That’s a belter of a signing for them. We could have done with that level of creativity.
  13. I agree with most of this, but will caveat that we’ve deliberately run light for two years. Last year we got away with it, this year been caught absolutely pants down. Someone (whether individually or collectively) has to take accountability for that. If not the CEO, then who?
  14. In preparation for catching the next series of Sunderland til I die, I decided to restart watching from series 1. Quite alarming how after first 3/4 episodes I find myself finding so many parallels to us right now. Indulge me in these a little as I’m being semi serious… - for Martin Bain read David Cook (Christ they even look similar) - for Simon Greyson see McPake (again shaving his head there’s more a resemblance! 😂) - their squad and ours comparable in terms of underperformance this season, - injuries and bad luck - owner that isn’t entirely visible/present - horrendous home form and atmosphere with angry fans - underwhelming transfer windows i mean, it all turned out ok for Sunderland didn’t it? 🥹
  15. I think if it hadn’t been for injuries, then recruitment wouldn’t have been an issue other than the fact we keep running short on players. This season has been in the post for some time. We got away with running tight on numbers last season, and paid for it this season. This is why I’m currently in no box, and swaying a little toward the undecided box. I look elsewhere and don’t see any managers ripping it up that I’d want here. The big Q, who comes in if he goes, and our current incumbent board track record gives me the fear. I think the board and specifically the CEO should be a lot more front and centre taking pressure off the manager - and I still hold them firmly accountable in the main for our current underperformance.
  16. One thing that separates the Hughes/Grant eras versus us now, at least the players give their all and look at least motivated to play. Several times under those two managers I would see examples of players not giving a fk. only other problem is though, I’m sure this squad (before any injury returns) is no better than what we had last time in this division. And that’s more worrying. Vast majority of our underperformances in my opinion have been down to board decisions or actions. Utterly depressing.
  17. This. The pre match interviews with McPake and OHalleron last week before the QP game were awful to watch. I knew after watching those we’d be in trouble. They both looked utterly done and came across exasperated, tired, out of ideas. Thats the manager and one of the senior pros. I’m hopeful Kane coming on board plus another one or two will improve the mood and the options. I don’t buy it that a manager change is needed. Almost every game i look at the available players and despair, as there’s not much else he can do with the available personnel. Theres so little room for him to change things too, which is where he really earned his corn last year.
  18. I think we’ll win, albeit unconvincingly. Take that and run.
  19. For added context though, You’ve skipped over the entire season of 05/06 that Leishman was in charge where we stayed up. I mean how could you forget the 1-8 and the cup final… He did his best, ultimately found wanting in the last season, but be remiss not to recognise he had a full season in charge where we’d been written off as relegation fodder and he kept us up. If he hadn’t come in to replace Hay, we’d have gone down. Dont think we’re anywhere near that scenario yet right now.
  20. Excellent signing for this level. Probably arriving just in time. One more to come….?
  21. No worries. You had replied a couple of posts later so I was surprised you hadn’t seen it. 👍
  22. The transfer window thread on this forum would beg to differ. Unless you don’t consider it not “specifically bad directed at CEO” - which id find surprising.
  23. They don’t now, looks like they were deleted.
  24. It always was in my opinion.
