  1. 😂😂😂 No worries Rab, I’ll help contextualise for you - it’s a scene from Still game - hence the image and joke. Only works if you are a bit of a still game geek like me and clearly @da_no_1 😂 2 minutes 10 seconds in 😄
  2. Excellent performance and result. Shout out to the defence and our young centre back pairing/keeper - keeping a clean sheet. That was a really good result. Watch McCann in the warm ups. Guaranteed he smacks in a few belters with pure power. For whatever reason in games his finesse isn’t quite there a lot of times. Maybe psychological? Today though - some strike when it mattered!
  3. We got fairly lucky with injuries last season. This is where a flexible squad has to step in and step up. But let’s hope that the injury isn’t as bad first!
  4. I had to go look it up, over 100 appearances for us over 3 years. I always had in my mind he was only here for a season, turns out much longer.
  5. Hey don’t you knock our top scorer that season 😳🫣
  6. Aye I think that’s my main frustration. I accept that we did well to get the loan players tied up. but only 3 fresh faces in the team come end of August (one of which is enforced) concerns me. For the first time I can remember, McPake wasn’t able to use the bench to get a positive result. And when you look at the personnel available to him today, you can see the problem. Last season we could have brought on Todorov, OHara or MacDonald. Any if those 3 could have made a difference today. I do understand the strategy, but our squad right now is weaker than last season. That’s hard to defend, especially considering the lead time we had for signings with the league won so quickly.
  7. It’s getting harder and harder to understand why we let him go if there was no obvious replacement ready.
  8. Were you saying that when Otoo was signed, or KRH, or Fisher? Presume you’ve had a few beverages tonight eh…? 😂
  9. Will KRH be fit enough for the bench…..? Not sure what to think of this game. Too close to call.
  10. I hear you. Never said he was unlucky though, just a shame it all went the way it did. If you remember when Yogi came in he brought Brian Rice, Scott Brown and John Collins along to get involved in the training/management which implies he felt he needed more support in the training dept. Didn’t help him right enough, as others have said, because he’s a choob. 😂 Thank f**k we seem to have moved well beyond all that and can look forward to some real success. 🤞
  11. I think you can question whether some circumstances didn’t help. I think he was told (from memory) that he would inherit the support management. He may have had a different team in mind if he had flexibility. With regards to signings, some duds for sure but not every one was useless - he got the mix completely wrong. He clearly had decided on a system, and signed players to play that system. So when it didn’t work - sh*t creek no paddle. Can still say he wasn’t a thunderc*nt of a person without it killing you though. 😉
  12. I think you can have both opinions on this one. It is hard to disagree with anything Tartan Army Par says. Grants record as manager was damning. For me Grant was sacked way too late. It was obvious very early on (the Ayr game being the obvious full stop to me) that it wasn’t working. I did say it was wrong appointment at wrong time. BUT - in the spirit of this thread, I was more referring to how Grant was as a person.
  13. Aye. I just felt really sorry for Grant in the end up, his plan simply didn’t work. I don’t think it helped that he had an inexperienced management team beside him, and his signings just didn’t work out in that mix. He seems a lovely man and anyone I’ve spoken to that’s met him in and out of football talks highly of him as a coach and as a person. He refuses to badmouth the club or support despite being sacked. A gentleman, but was wrong appointment at wrong time. As for John Hughes though….
  14. I really enjoyed that game. Such a tremendous effort from our boys. Gutting to lose the equaliser but we’d have taken the draw before the game. Futures very bright indeed…..
  15. That’s a tremendous signing. Also explains why we weren’t that fussed about Byrne.
  16. Ping me a message pls Mark see what we can sort out
  17. Planning on taking the car up to Dundee tomorrow, meeting folk up there so have a spare seat or two in the car if anyone interested in car sharing, leaving from Rosyth but can pick up from Dunfermline on way. 😃
  18. I’m genuinely not that bothered by Shaun Byrne signing for them. Said before, he wouldn’t be in my choice in midfield out of the ones we have in the squad once fully fit. It’s creative wide players and drive up top we desperately need. Rovers fans are desperate to make this a “he chose us over you” w@nkfest. I’m not convinced we were even interested.
  19. Let’s not be too hasty. Remember all this stuff shown here from Twitter could be just made up pish. Anyone can start a transfer rumour on Twitter and within 2 hours ends up being reported by some as “fact”.
  20. It’s a great idea, suspect the main issue will be ongoing energy cost challenges. Still needs to retain its purpose as a mass audience exit gangway so would be extra cost for fire compliance surveying too. Hopefully this and other ideas will be explored. 🙂
  21. Except one did come off the bench and score the winner. Look I get it, it’s tight. But our board and indeed our manager have signed up to run this way. And…it’s working.
  22. Too easy - it was like a tap in at the back post. 😂
  23. That’s nothing, should hear the ones that do the commentary on Pars Tv
  24. That is laudable. Think we’ve had similar schemes in the past or indeed still have one via dot net. Have you seen the family area installed and launched at the Norrie today? Looks really good. Maybe Raith will look at that and think to do the same?
