  1. A* Alliteration Amigo!!! 👏 although more chance me marrying Miss Brazil and having 5 kids with her, than either of the old firm getting points taken off them 😂
  2. It’s also November, which is exactly when we thought both would be back at the time of their initial diagnosis.
  3. What about the views of those who say all three? Disregard those too? 😉
  4. Scenarios - Win and we are fourth. All will be rosy across the forums and social media, McPake will be heralded as the man to lead us to the promised land of the Premiership, meanwhile sales of bratwurst and other German related produce will soar. Talk will begin of who the next “Kevin Nisbet” sell on will be. Or- We lose 2-0 and we sink to the bottom, all forums will contain snivelling posts of derision and “told you so”, Wighton will be labelled lazy, Chalmers not good enough for this level, McPake “found out”, the Germans will be subject of a partial boycott of the local Lidl/Aldis and someone will report that a bid to the council has been made to flatten (KDM GROUP) East End Park and turn it into the UKs biggest German Donner Kebab outlet. Or, the most meh 0-0 draw ever. Nothing changes.
  5. Glad to see all the doubting Thomas’s are out in force after a couple of defeats, been awfully quiet without them the last season and a bit. McPake said throughout the window, these are his players, that he was happy with, and that’s that. That in mind he has to be given the time to improve the run and entrust the players he signed. Or we could just roll our eyes and blame ze Germans (which is ironic considering only one of the active group is actually German), and wonder when we will see East End bulldozed to become a Lidl, and then all the naysayers can scream “told you so”. 💀
  6. Fancy McPake to have sorted us out for an unexpected win.
  7. I can see a few have said it was a back 3 but I watched the game from the stand, definitely looked like it started as a back 4, with O Halleron well advanced into an RM role. Even at the warm up when the defensive lines were going thru their warm up it was as a 4 Edwards Otoo Breen Comrie. Either way it didn’t work! 😂 Breen didn’t look comfortable until he switched to LCB and Comrie looked totally spooked. Fisher looked the most assured out of the lot when he came on. Otoo for me has to get into midfield, he’s much stronger there for us rather than from the back.
  8. Speaking to one of the guys a while ago i got the impression every penny (plus more of their own tbf) gets spent on displays pretty much right away. This stuff isn’t cheap and they have to order from abroad etc.
  9. And you can’t even get walk up tickets as the club refuses to sell them now. Was my stand for years, can’t get a season ticket as I’m away next year to the States so I’ve had to shuffle off to the main stand. Was pretty galling to see it half full yesterday! 😂
  10. Indeed. But we weren’t before the Partick game. Without Bene against Morton and Queens Park we looked absolutely fine. Looking back on yesterday I’m convinced we started with a flat back 4 and Hamilton was dropping back to make a 5, and it absolutely pulled the whole thing apart. Comrie and Breen looked so out of sorts in that formation, possibly because Breen is much more comfortable at left centre back rather than right? I can understand why McPake tried to change it from back 3 but it simply didn’t work. His double change was to try and mobilise the midfield and improve the links from back to middle. Breen played better once he had fisher beside him before he too was taken off. Overall - McPake tried something different and it didn’t work out. It happens. But these last 2 performances are the only two I remember under him where we’ve been poor and had a bad result. Considering he’s still only lost 5 league games in his managerial career with us he deserves plenty support as he can look to put it right.
  11. https://dafc.co.uk/manager-post-ayr-united/ For what it’s worth, I thought this was a very good honest reflection on the game.
  12. I’d expect nothing less frankly 😩😂
  13. I did consider linking in the highlights but that would be too traumatic for me, and posting them probably counts as a hate crime 😂😂😂
  14. Partick 0-3 under grant Arbroath 0-3 under grant Rangers 0-6 under grant Morton 0-5 under Hughes QP 0-0 and 0-1 under Hughes Just off top of my head tbh 😂😂😂
  15. Nah I’m not having that. Certainly not worse than some performances under those two. I get it and it was a tough watch but let’s not go too far. it was awful, but at least attempts wee made to dramatically change it, and we were far better in the second half than the first. For me, they started trying to be to clever and switching to a back 4 from 3, and had Breen and Comrie totally exposed by the whole team not being able to play that system. It totally unsettled the whole team. After that horrendous start, it’s incredible that we were a lick of paint away from getting a point. get back to a 3 v Raith and get Otoo into midfield pls.
  16. We all need to take less and less notice of fuds on social media accounts posting utter drivel. There was a guy posting in the comments after the Thistle game about McPake being sacked. Pre social media they’d be the subject of a whispered warning in the pub and you’d steer clear of them, now they have a voice and no filter, to be heard across a variety of platforms.
  17. This. Would be an awful game of football. It’s shocking weather, and if the alternative is to have plastic grass to get games on like that lot up the road, frankly, I’ll pass thanks.
  18. You’re right of course it shouldn’t be an assumption. However - the image portrayed of him will undoubtedly have players initially on edge. And I’ve not read or seen much evidence of DF coaching to suggest he has gone the opposite way! agreed re Scot Gardiner.
  19. Hmm. Footballers these days don’t react well to hairdryer style treatment. And I’d suggest even less so if you’re hundreds of miles from home plying your trade in the Highlands. What does Duncan Ferguson know about Scottish Championship football…? I just don’t see this working for them and can only see maybe a short spurt of improvement before a long slide into league 1. I may be wrong, but I’ve yet to read or hear of a successful manager in the Scottish Championship who didn’t have coaching or playing experience at this level before taking on a managers role. It’s a very difficult level to recruit for and be successful in.
  20. Exactly. Unfortunately always has to be one total clown to ruin it for others. Just like the little tube who threw the pyro thing onto the pitch on Saturday. It’s just noise we don’t need. I hope the individual who shouted abuse over to the new employee reads this, and is suitably ashamed. Glad a response has been sent out and the club has given sight of a plan.
  21. My main worry about Saturday, is how we deal with Brian Graham and his antics - a conniving diving dirty cheat with a knack of being in the right place as a striker. That and if Fitzpatrick and Lawless turn up this Will be a right good test for us.
  22. Drew usually replies really quickly, not the case with the CEO?
  23. To be fair there may well be good reasoning behind it. Over the years, when I’ve contacted Drew with an issue I’ve understood the response and reasoning from the club - been a few occasions where I’ve given him a note to ask a Q. So why not ask the question, there may be a good reason/wider plan. I will say it would be nice if the communication was a bit more open beforehand and considering the growing staff list at the club that are not involved in football operations, items like forward thinking communication should be a priority. (Website typos, social media information, turnstyle information being communicated to stewards in the North east so their scanners work - etc etc). In this example a bit of pro activity to understand folk will not like this change at first so manage the message. It’s not difficult stuff really, which is why I get frustrated when they do seem a bit uncaring/dismissive of impact on fans when they take certain actions.
