  1. Better position overall than last week but still no prospect of moving Hamilton or Otoo into midfield (unless we put fisher in the middle, which we did very briefly after Bene got injured)
  2. I’ve bumped a thread from a few months ago where some members attended a meeting which I think contained a fuller presentation than just the PowerPoint on at the bottom of the recent update. Perhaps a merger of these threads?
  3. https://dafc.co.uk/living-true-sportsmanship-at-the-heart-of-updated-vision-for-dafc/ looks like the club are still going ahead with the vision, I had hoped it was allowed to quietly disappear but not so. My objections from a few months ago still remain. from the most recent info, I particularly object to this statement ‘As we know, football is about so much more than simply what happens on the pitch‘ It isn’t, it’s competitive sport and it’s entirely about winning, the rest is just noise.
  4. I’m a bit of a cynic tbh. I certainly believe mcpake’s openness to listen and take on board comments from outside, he’s had conversations with fans and never placed his opinions above theres. But ultimately he’s talking publicly about his boss, there’s an inherent bias towards being positive. The article itself, along with a number of articles over the past few weeks have IMO been deliberately designed to sell the model the club is working too. None of them have been particularly bad in any sense, just a theme I’ve noticed.
  5. Communicating who is dealing with any particular danger is such a fundamental part of defending we should be able to trust that mehmet can be part of that. Part of the difficulty is he is making different kind of mistakes, that suggests to me it’s confidence over anything else, if it was the same mistake that’s a more fundamental problem. I think one of the contributors to that is our lack of goals, and whilst just about every mistake from a goalkeeper will result in a goal, you’re going to be less worried about making one if you can trust someone is going to get a goal back down the other end to make up for it. If i was his coach, I’d be having a conversation about maybe for a few weeks to play slightly within himself, punch a more crosses, play a few more percentage passes, push a few more shots away etc, just for long enough before he gets back in his grove. Thats not an easy conversation to have and I would understand if the coaches choose another route, after all they know if far better than me and you don’t want to risk him completely going into his shell
  6. Every single club with a 3g pitch already has a facility where everyone trains, ok we're building one away from the stadium, which has small advantages that we can keep a grass pitch and not ruin it with over training but its not exactly a big draw to first team players. Not interested in clubs outside the top flight, that's where we should be pushing to be and we need to compare our background structures compared to them. If we want to attract the best young talent we need a facility that at least matches these clubs. 4 years ago we were an underperforming championship club with a performance academy to draw from, now? we are the same and unless we address either or both points we can't be happy. Covid? every single club in the world went through that, it can't be used as an excuse.
  7. state of the art academy? sorry I must have missed some details, right now all we are looking to put in is a 4g pitch, which would match the facilities of about 20 Scottish clubs who provide that within their stadiums. Even the original plans weren't that great, it was always going to leave us well behind elite status with the consequences of that. It really really isn't, He had a squad largely capable of championship football and has, with a few unremarkable additions got them playing at that standard. Just cos grant and hughes were utter pathetic failures and made these players look much worse than their abilities doesn't suddenly make mcpake a messiah. He's doing fine, and given how cut-throat management is fine is a reasonable standard, but lets not get overexcited over it, there's still a lot of improvements we must make.
  8. I don't know how to solve this but it is something we need to find an answer for. I think there was a large amount of agreement over our pricing structure for season tickets and it was absolutely brilliant to see so many youngsters buying in to the club and getting themselves one, however if they aren't turning up every week and that's meaning those who get tickets by game can't get a ticket for their preferred section there's an issue.
  9. Ibrahimovic was the name I thought of as someone who considers part 3 very much not why he’s on the pitch. He considers reserving his energy for the big moments to be important and that means he limits what he uses up when his team is out of possession, maybe that doesn’t automatically disqualify him tho.
  10. Wouldn’t be too disappointed with a draw but it would be really good to see us finally able to beat one of the top 3.
  11. I’m not an accountant, but I don’t believe that the spending at rosyth goes directly down as a loss, as that spending creates an asset. on 7 figures, I believe that’s what our debt is meant to be to the German company, which is to be converted to shares when they take up ownership(rather than defacto) I hope that’s been mixed up as a loss rather than what we’ve actually lost last season.
  12. I’m not sure it’s a ridiculous question even if the behaviour of the individual and the room in general is bizarre. Businesses get asked about their approach to climate change quite often.
  13. It’s my maths, which I have a decent hope in but I’m not making any promises! Rovers for me have found that magical world where you can only see yourself succeeding, it’s an incredibly fragile place that’s hard to keep going but every week they do so builds even more strength. they also have often had at least one very strong attacking player to bring on if they need which helps.
  14. In answer to my own question. If all games finished with the score as it was on 80 minutes the league would look as such . Team GP points GD GF Partick 14 27 Dundee united 13 26 Inverness 13 22 Dunfermline 13 20 Ayr 13 18 -3 17 Airdrie 14 18 -3 13 Queens Park 13 18 -5 Raith 13 16 Arbroath 12 10 Morton 12 6 Edit- goal difference and goals for only calculated when required as a separator
  15. 86th min equaliser too. Wonder where they’d be in a table if games lasted 80 minutes? Edit- without checking everyone else’s results and the consequences of them, they have won 11 points with goals in the last 10 minutes,
  16. That’s what I’d want. IMO there’s 3 mini leagues, top 3 fighting for promotion who all will be in playoffs middle group aiming for that 4th spot which we are in. bottom 3 trying to stay up, all look dreadful and tbh I think 9th will go down in the playoffs so your going to win that group to stay up IMO unfortunately Caley are 1 up
  17. I can't see that happening, tends to only be in amber/red warnings they have a say, only a yellow warning that barely brushes glasgow in place which should be lifted before players never mind fans leave. It looks, with minimum precaution getting out traveling isn't a big issue, only getting the pitch suitable will be.
  18. And even those that are fans have been in the game that long they've got pals all over the place, apart from a tiny tiny minority(type's that don't like anything green or blue for example) most passionate fans are not so bitter that they wouldn't have a chat with a mate after a game.
  19. We’ve never really had a ‘what’s our best 11’ question it’s mostly been what 11 can we get on the pitch.
  20. Agree with all that. They have created a weird cult hatred of McTominay. I don’t know why. A fan base built on 90s/00s glory hunting that despite years of practice can’t comprehend the club they have supported cos they were good are no longer that.
  21. I prefer Otoo in midfield, I think all his best performances have come there. I am frustrated about the lack of CB cover we have, it was very poor planning to just hope a guy in his 30s and someone with repeated injury problems, mostly muscular, that both going to be available for 30 games a season. That said, I don’t actually think our biggest problem is having Hamilton and Otoo at CB, they are capable, the bigger issue is that they then aren’t playing higher up the pitch
  22. I am frustrated, I haven't booked a ticket for the supporters meeting as I can't attend, something I have sadly never been able to do. I am relieved to see it move slot from its usual Thursday night slot as I felt sticking to one night of the week was prohibitive to some fans unfortunately both Tuesday's and Thursday's are difficult for me, but I can't expect the club to move around my personal schedule. I respect your own opinion, I hope I wasn't too disparaging of that.
  23. I have the same publicly available info as you, and that is our club is happy with failure, its not a goal to say we should stay up, its a very minimum requirement for there not to be severe changes in the club, including several members of the management and board ****ing off. Mcpake saying 8th is ok is just him saying if he gets that he hopes to keep his job which is what anyone would say. If we finish 8th there's alot of people who maybe around next season but must know that they have severely ****ed up and need to pull themselves together very very quickly. We need to demand a reasonable standard at this club and 8th in the championship is a ****ing mile away from that.
  24. I really disagree with that. We keep hearing from people involved at the club about how **** results should be acceptable, its maybe done deliberately(there was a point made about not mentioning promotion last year until it was sealed) to manage expectations but just staying up isn't acceptable. I don't know why we want to say it is, there is absolutely nothing wrong with setting achievable goals and holding yourself to account publicly over them.
  25. I agree that they can’t be treated as a wee diddy club, their league position shows that
