  1. Good to hear. sign of an aging system. There must be dozens more seals of a similar age that were just waiting on failing. Full system probably needs a complete overhaul at some point, a costly job I’d imagine and with so many other areas also looking for funding I can’t see where the cash is to spend on something that isn’t required at our current level is.
  2. It would be a very good signing for us, albeit not in the position we are most desperate, however I can't see him being within reach, he'll nearly certain go to the premiership.
  3. Never understand why clubs drift from the PR template of 'x has left the club, we thank them for their efforts and are currently recruiting a suitable replacement' Not seen a good example yet when going off script, they nearly always create more questions than answers. As for the sacking, they have 1 win from 11, that's a very hard record for anyone to survive.
  4. I am possibly making the fatal mistake of underestimating just how stupid people can be. I think it is just part of things, ultimately there’s thousands of people free to their opinions and some of them will say things you don’t like. Unless it crosses a line that it should become a police matter then I think ignoring it is best, you can’t let everything bams say online get to you.
  5. I think it is tbh, maybe because I don’t know how someone writes that out without having a heavy dose of sarcasm involved. This would be as ridiculous as the honest suggestions we deliberately did get the game cancelled.
  6. Tbf you shouldn’t be taking on players at youth football if you don’t believe in their potential.
  7. Mon to ****. small moments are enjoyable in **** times, that doesn’t make them good times. You enjoy them briefly and then reality kicks in, those moments don’t make up for the ****, it’s when we compete and a genuinely good level that we can cheer, we haven’t done that in over a decade. nothing achieved in league 1 is overall good times, it’s a shame on our club to be at the level. I agree that good time are rare and worth celebrating. I just don’t agree that league 1 is worth celebrating long term I’ll say that to anyone, don’t give a ****, players or managers may be happy with their individual performance and I don’t have a problem with that, they were employed to perform at that standard and achieved it but if they want to think that they were involved in a good moment in relative terms to where we should be I’ll laugh in their face, they are part of a very low moment in one of the worst generations of our history(set to be confirmed as joint worst if we don’t go up this year, the outright worst if we don’t go up next year) Overall I really resent your ‘why do you even support the club’ attitude. That’s ****ed up, to turn it around, why the **** do you support the club if you’re happy to cheer failure?
  8. I would call them OK times. Good times were when we were winning the 2nd tier, playing in Europe etc. If you want to include small moments in relative poor seasons as good then you'll count fletuful wins in relegation seasons, I wouldn't
  9. I presume he has now recovered from his illness and also lack of bodies making that a more likely call than the start of the month, We have loads of time to loan him back out if more experienced guys become available, especially with no transfer window at LL(which if he gets on the pitch back to ES is the only club he can go)
  10. I liked those things, and particularly the todd show at the sell out was good fun, but surely you must also balance that with it being it was a low moment to be even playing such a game? I ****ing love that winning feeling, but we need to be doing it at a standard that can make us proud, winning at a low level is very hollow. We can give it laldy to Falkirk fans after the game, but you walk into work and your most likely to be asked, what league you in? We can answer that more satisfactory now but still a long way off from being able to stand proud and talk of how we have a good team.
  11. Allan for me is a lower-mid championship squad player. We are currently performing as a lower mid championship club and are well away from having a squad so he plays
  12. I wouldn’t call last season good times, it was certainly nice to go to win a title, smash Falkirk and have a long unbeaten run but it was league 1 and that makes it almost impossible for the standard to be any better than ok.
  13. Is this about my loan spot comment? That was due to it being a cross-border loan and therefore not subject to the spfl rules over loan numbers.
  14. Rightly so, I should clarify other than moaning fans by deal with it I mean accept it’s a situation that needs management rather than accept that people who are into attacking opposition fans should be allowed at the ground. It’s free to view but if you’ve read too many articles just open it in another browser or in private mode. On this signing(that is what we’re meant to be talking about 😀 ), I have no idea how good he is so will need to wait before commenting on that. Positives are it won’t use up a loan spot and given the comment about him originally being a next season target and him being out of contract with Cardiff in the summer I think we maybe targeting a permanent deal if it works.
  15. We are a community club, but that community has some issues, like any other one. You say pyro etc isn’t just any old stuff, and whilst you may not agree with it, it’s absolutely everywhere, I’d reckon the number of clubs in Scotland who have had fans let of pyro in the past year is in the dozens Fan violence clearly isn’t acceptable, but again it’s not a dunfermline only issue, nearly every club of our size has issues with it and it isn’t going to be solved easily. As for fans going off their nut, that’s football, if it’s something that’s going to enrage them I have no idea why they are involved in football TBH. I think sometimes theres some twee idea about what it means to be a community club, I don’t think any of the incidents even the worst ones are that much of a surprise, they are just things your going to need to deal with as part of running a club.
  16. Losses like last year and indeed if this year must entirely be to off-field spending, we made profits in league 1 when we won it in 2016 and every single year in the championship apart from when we let Johnston sign a massive squad on inflated wages before needing to sack him months later. On the 2nd part, If there’s any chance at any point the group decide to leave for any reason that the club can’t quickly return to its normal operating structure without their investment then they need ****ing hung as does anyone else on the board overseeing the spending.
  17. Maybe you thought it was obvious, but I’m not totally convinced it is, maybe not from you but I think a lot of talk around the long term protect seems to suggest things like youth teams and selling players on is an achievement in itself, it’s a potential route to success, but not a prerequisite as grant has shown. Infrastructure projects come with risk, I’m not suggesting this is happening but there’s a long list of companies who have made significant infrastructure investments and it ended up being a noose around their neck. All future planning needs to recognition of that, along with the potential opportunities that may arrive. I’d be alarmed if that’s not being discussed at board level, obviously they believe the opportunity’s out way the risk. Businesses move resources between projects constantly to adapt to a changing environment it’s not abandoning one to redirect to another.
  18. I think your being a bit harsh of grant here TBH. If we take these 2 statements it looks like you were already in agreement. He never said 'the whole squad is pish and we're doomed to relegation' He just mentioned that if we don't add to the squad relegation was a risk, Risks are part of life and need to be accepted and mitigated against where possible, that doesn't mean that by acknowledging risk that you are giving up on seeking higher goals. These things are nice and all. But ONLY if they result in us succeeding better at a first team level. I agree they are likely to be beneficial towards that, but they are not a success on their own.
  19. Loans need to be at minimum until the start of the next window, as are any contracts we hand out
  20. Agreed, it was more in response to grants suggestion we are looking for a GK. I trust him more than random transfer pages.
  21. Baffling if that’s true
  22. I don't think they looked overwhelmed, I think they looked like their abilities right now are not at championship standard. Not judging them on age, just what I saw from them, they've had a chance and my overwhelming thought is we need better quality than that.
  23. You’ve got to understand mcpakes reluctance to play the kids. None of them have shown they are up to it at this level yet.
  24. With what players? we have 5 fully fit outfield players, one of them wearing a mask.
  25. We don’t have the personel to play a 4 either tbf. The 4 we ended up playing 2nd half was CM CM youth LB actual LB Overall I’m quite frustrated tonight. I can’t aim that at any player or management, probably my biggest frustration on that front was not protecting summers. On the overall picture tho? ****ing hell it’s not good, going to try and restrict myself in what I say, if I let myself get into a rant it may go OTT.
