I'm not surprised by that being mentioned, summers took a knock against rovers and is not used to playing 90 mins at this level, He'd have been subbed if we had the depth to bring on, we didn't and a risk of not being able to play future games is always there when your forced to make that decision. Otoo similar, I find it difficult to believe anyone in an ideal scenario is taking a player who wasn't fit to play at all would choose to play them 90 mins 3 days later. McPake has been fairly open this week that guys are playing through knocks due to others being unavailable, that comes with consequences.

Quite worrying tbh if a a young lad is missing for 6 weeks with illness, whatever it is hope he gets better soon. I think any recall would be a temporary sticking plaster with the plan to re-loan him later in the month, shouldn't impact him too much long term if that's a worked plan. On a technicality, we have 3 loan slots, moffat doesn't count, same with any other loan from outside scotland if we make one. I would send sharp back which I think makes it worth bringing in a loan who your not 100% certain will be a starter without worrying about lack of loan spots. Not that parent clubs would be very happy for that to happen and I believe its common for loan agreements to be set up to financially incentivise playing the loaned player.

Even more bizzare is that part of the sell when the hamburg based consortium came in was that a larger scouting network was to come in as part of the model. In terms of the roles, I could see how they may require similar skill sets, particularly if it is as imagine largely data based work. But in terms of output I agree they aren't similar and should be separated. With the data available recruitment is changing and there are clubs at a far higher level than us that will sign players without having them watched in the traditional sense and it works out ok, but it is a far higher level and they have way more data points available to work with.

Generally agree, Would swap fisher and breen tho. Fisher played the middle role a few times and did ok, breen played it once(possibly the home game vs ayr?) and struggled.

All the noise coming out the club is they’re more hoping we sign a witch doctor who suddenly provides the mythical fully fit squad but the they aren’t that interested in addicting many. if the noise was about being pro-active in the market, that they had some deals the were hoping to complete in early January, that they recognized the need to get much closer to the top teams in the division then more would be waiting to anticipation to who we will bring in.

Otoo was fouled a couple of times where the ref needs to do better, for the goal tho it’s him who needs to be better. Poor decision to try play out on the counter, as soon as he gets in front of bird he needs to make it his mission to punt the ball out. On the injuries, Hamilton maybe looked bad on camera, it didn’t seem so bad in the ground but a cheekbone hit has a bit of severity. McCann was your typical pulling up after a sprint hamstring deal.

Becoming increasingly frustrated with blaming injuries, yes we’ve had a harsh run of it but we must stand up and deal with it, recruit properly, stop being forced to name kids on the bench and push the club forward.

I kinda agree, We're no match for the top 3 and even a massive investment would unlikely claw that back. However, my question would be, if we're going to cross that gap for next season IMO we need 5-6 probable starters to come in and its better to do that over 2 windows than 1, especially given our track record of being slow in making signings.

I think so, they are not handling it well. way back when we had our title rovers also had a nasty habit of getting late goals as they are now(tho maybe not as extreme) we used that to focus and make sure we took care of ourselves, I'm not sure this united team are capable, they look to be too worried about what might be happening in games they can't control instead of making sure they take care of their own result.

I've said elsewhere a number of times, best wishes, there is no doubting the hell they are in and I only hope they find a way out.

He is was obviously considered fit to play a period of time, but was that 5 minutes? 10? 30? 60? I don’t know and depends on where he is on that scale on if he can start. I also believe him being a defender will place more emphasis on if he can play the 90, I think managers are far more inclined to start an attacking player knowing they will need replaced than a defensive one.

Didn’t see any update on him, he was on the bench last week, but fit enough to start yet?
