Vinnie
Everton spent £28m on Lukaku alone.Newcastle spent £25m in January, along with £20m+ last summer.Liverpool spent big on Benteke and others.Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Spurs all spent in excess of the £23m last summer alone. irishmcbride
Leicester's position in the wages graph would change somewhat if bonuses were taken into account, I reckon.
Paradox
They'll do well to hold onto Kante and Mahrez I reckon. Mind you, if you're a foxes fan, the hangover will last until February, so you probably won't notice.People keep saying this, but why would the players want to move? They'll get massive bonuses no doubt, be playing Champions League football next year, and at a club awash with cash next season, who will be able to attract some real star quality to add into the squad who have just won the league. Leicester can probably match the wages/bonuses being offered by any potential suitors for next season - they apparently get £150m just for winning the league! Not saying they won't go, that's football. Just questioning why they would want to.

Just questioning why they would want to.Just because they can attract star names now, doesn't mean that's a good thing. Leicesters success was built on team spirit. Star names often come with ego's that may prove disruptive. Of course, the other consideration is that Mahrez and Kante don't dream of playing for Leicester, they dream of playing for Juventus or Real Madrid or Barcelona, or Manchester United. Leicester and the EPL are stepping stones.

Just questioning why they would want to.If youre a Mahrez, or a Kante, and someone like Dortmund or Lyon (for example) come in for you, ostensibly bigger teams also in the CL, and likely to pay more, you'll move.Big teams will be sniffing round those players this summer, and with agents motivated by the possibility of big paydays, Leicester will struggle to hold them, especially if (as is rumoured) they have minimum fee clauses in the their contracts. Also, winning £150m doesn't really mean much when your owner is a billionaire anyway. Leicester are a rich club, they don't need prize money to hold onto their players.

irishmcbride
The rumour is Kante has a 20 million pound release clause. If that's true, there are plenty clubs out there who will consider that a bargain. Vinnie
The rumour is Kante has a 20 million pound release clause. These release clauses mean next to nothing. If the offer is £10m and Kante really wants to leave, he'll be on his way.
SanguinePar
How much their owner has in the bank is irrelevant, it's what is invested in the team that is measurable.Saw a stat somewhere that LVG has spent more in his time at MU than Leicester have spent in their 132 year history! :-) Any reason for picking LVG ? You could have picked most Premiership managers.............Ask the people who released the stat, I'm just passing on what it said :-)
