Paradox Posted September 18, 2015 Report Share Posted September 18, 2015 Yeah, would have to agree with you @HandsomeBob - I would have thought that at least one CB would have been a priority.However, I'll say something - AJ doesn't appear to sign players without checking them out thoroughly first. No point in him signing a player for the sake of it.I had half-expected to hear something concrete about Steven Saunders today with him playing for the U20s earlier in the week.I've heard a few good things about the lad though, so glad he's joined.Love the last sentence on the Wikipedia entry about him! Deutsch Par Posted September 18, 2015 Report Share Posted September 18, 2015 Surprised at this signing for a couple of reasons, I thought McCabe was trialling at Shrewsbury and and left us, and the fact that getting a defender in is of more importance. Paradox Posted September 18, 2015 Report Share Posted September 18, 2015 Whilst I agree with what seems to be a popular school of thought that signing a defender seemed to be a priority, I continue to be impressed by the calibre of player that AJ is bringing to EEP.All of his signings to date are capable of playing at a higher level, and I have no doubt that he has his eye on at least one defender, but there is no point in signing a player for the sake of it.IMO every one of his signings has improved the squad and could quite readily be a first-team pick.In AJ we trust.
