1992 - big clubs rig the national system to their own benefit kicking off a Stalinist re-write of history (think how often the BBC dutifully refers to Premier League records - as if football was only born in 1992). Verdict - best league in the world. Something to be proud of.

2021 - big clubs take the inevitable step of rigging the system even more in a self serving display of blatant greed. Verdict - even the leader of a greed based sleaze ridden government is getting in on the mass hypocrisy south of the border.

Mind you, Tottenham must be getting bored of constantly winning domestic honours and could do with a new challenge.

Just another new layer of football for me to ignore.

I wonder if the ugly sisters will try for this one?

Listening to an American journalist today who broke the story, he was saying it would be very unlikely that Celtic and Rangers have not been approached. It is also no coincidence that they both wanted B teams to join the league system in Scotland before this was announced.

Its a interesting coincidence imo. Purely on fan base and international appeal sadly the OF may be on the fringe of developments. However if they did join there should be no B team in Scotland and if it goes tits up and want back then they would have to qualify for the league through the Juniors.

Chelsea/City fans on twitter claiming they only joined it to destroy it from within, can't make up that level of stupidity. It's failed now but will re-appear again. Inevitable it's going to happen, anyone with sense will stay away from the clubs involved.

Watch the poor us begging cap coming out, we need more money now we are losing out on this from the clubs involved.  Give your time and support to clubs that deserve it.

Pretty indicitive of how things are heading with the modern game.

I hope the fans of these clubs actually have a go at their own clubs over these greed fuelled proposals.

They definitely have been, on Reddit at least (which you would think would bias to a more American way of thinking). There were Liverpool fans cheering on Leeds last night, and fans of all six clubs condemning the ESL.

Fingers crossed that these greedy ba**ards have learned their lesson here.
