  1. Team news: OFW Comrie Connolly Gasputis Edwards Dow Allan Pybus Kennedy Wighton O'Hara
  2. Ultimately regardless of who is likely to be our next manager is always going to get stick. Can't say I'm happy with Grant either but some of the utter bull****e I have read over the past few weeks is laughable and shameful
  3. Quite like it, purely on the basis it doesn't indulge the OF or the usual subjects in the top flight. Its good to see other lower league teams being mentioned too. You can see it has a very small budget and that reflects on the format but it works for me.
  4. Regardless of PG, every game is a must win game for the Pars 🤣
  5. Saturday the Pars faithful head off on the long haul to Palmerston in Dumfries where we meet former manager Alan Johnston's Queen of the South. The Doonhamers sit 7th in the table with 6pts from two wins and their form over the past 5 games has been two wins and 3 losses. Over the league campaign they have scored 8, four more than the Pars but have equally conceded 12 goals each. The Pars form is familiar to us all but we have been unbeaten the past 3 games and the drought has been broken with an O'Hara goal at the San Starko. Is it enough to say the tide is turning - perhaps not but progress and 3pts on Sat may just be enough to say is a possibility. The key thing will probably be the squad and those carrying and ruled out from injury. If we are close to putting out a decent team I think there may be a chance we might lift ourselves off the bottom of the table and the faithful maybe heading back smiling. 1-2 Pars win. COYP
  6. Thought he made a massive difference today. At times in the first half he couldn't believe what he was watching. I liked the fact that he was vocal and trying to organise the players around him. We will benefit from his loan
  7. Pybus should have stayed on was having a decent game, Dow was largely anonymous. Things improved after half time - disappointed that we had to wait till then to see it. You could see that Grant was trying to get players further up the Park but it didn't really change until the 2nd half. Confidence and nervousness took hold after we scored and it was almost as if players didn't want to lose the game rather than win it. However I think they should take some confidence from that. Rovers are a very decent team
  8. Absolute brilliant save by OFW
  9. Toderov and Cole aff, Wighton and O'Hara on
  10. I think we are lucky not to be 3 down, Toderov getting a share of the blame on TV but he is far too isolated, Comrie is struggling out there and Dow is posted missing. I'd get Dow off and McDonald on
  11. Cant believe how much room Zannatta and Dick are getting down the left every out ball from Rovers down the left finds loads of space
  12. Subs bench: Kyle Macdonald, Kevin O’Hara, Craig Wighton, Paul Allan, Leon Jones, Dom Thomas, Deniz Mehmet (GK)
  13. Team news: Owain Fôn Williams Aaron Comrie, Mark Connolly, Vytas Gašpuitis, Josh Edwards Ryan Dow, Graham Dorrans (c), Dan Pybus, Kai Kennedy, Reece Cole Nikolay Todorov It seems like Watson was the injury to CH. COYP
  14. That is sad news about Lewis Martin if he hasn't recovered from his injury and I wish him all the best. I suppose apart from Martin we are unsure about what the injury situation is. Breen has yet to make his appearance, and we are unsure if others are perhaps carrying a injury. Graham did well with Cove last season but perhaps stepping into the championship has been a level too much.
  15. Reading between the lines of Grants interview on Cows suggests GJS93 may not be far from the mark which is concerning. Its a difficult one - you don't want players carrying injuries that are likely to develop further and may cause a longer period on the side lines.
  16. Big game on Wed, the fact its a derby against the wee team is probably 2nd in everyone's minds. The outcome is the most important thing, collect 3 points and that will lift us off the bottom - anything less will see us firmly routed to the bottom. I'll try not mention our form, but the Rovers are sitting 4th with 10pts scoring 10 goals but notably conceding 8 with a GD of +2. The bookies odd's will probably not be in our favour but with two clean sheets and if we can get our strikers switched on there is a chance. Early kick off and its on the cooncil telly. I'm going to pull the couch away from the wall and hide 1-2 Rovers 😞
  17. Didn't think we played badly but there wasn't much of a spark either. The first half we were the better team, the 2nd just went flat for both sides that seemed not to want to take risks and played it safe. I don't think we created enough from middle to front, Dow was poor and Kennedy needs to look up more and not just run into one player after the next. Wighton had a great chance in the first but in truth I don't think there was great service to either of the strikers. However I was scratching my head at the substitutions - but I think Toderov had a knock. Defensively I was happy with the clean sheet - but OFW drives me to the point of despair when he punches the ball when its easier to catch. Overall the opportunity was lost today, I cant say I was as happy with that point as I was last week and the chance to make progress has flatlined. Two big games coming up at the San Starko and at Palmerston. I think PG must look to take at least 4pts from the next two or his career pathway may develop new options.
  18. Yep plan to be there Slainte Mhath 🥃🍺👍😜
  19. Legends and more importantly Charlie D's will be open on Sat 😃🍺🥃
  20. PG perhaps earned a reprieve from the executioners block on Sat, but if anything it was deserved. Even though playing at home against the form team in the championship a clean sheet and draw was well merited and given the balance of chances there was the opportunity to take the 3 points. Saturday welcomes Hamilton to EEP and there now exists the potential to leap frog them as they are in second bottom. Both Hamilton fans are in despair at their own teams form after being relegated last season and continuing to spiral down the Championship table. Slightly better than the Pars in 9th place they have earned 4pts with a draw against Raith and a win against QoS. However in the process along with ourselves they have a GD of -8, but they have conceded 14 goals in 6 games. The Pars own record despite last weeks well earned draw is still miserable but I feel there is growing optimism after Sat's game that there was progress and a corner to be turned - whether we oversteer or understeer off the corner in the process is yet to be seen. I think the players will have taken confidence from their last outing so I think a narrow 2-1 Pars win is on the cards. The scaffold for many remains in situ for now ......................... COYP
