  1. I’m not sure about this idea as it seems to be too harsh a punishment in rugby where it really unbalances the game for 10 minutes. I think the rule makers forget that the senior game is now a form of entertainment. I also think that there is way too much dissent these days but I don’t think this is the way to fix it.
  2. Really poor today, we got everything wrong and are in a relegation battle now. There’s a reason teams try to balance youth and experience, I can’t believe games like today do anything to improve inexperienced players. Morton will never have an easier game.
  3. Game day! This has the feeling of a really important match as a potential turning point. With 2 new players available a win today with 2 very winnable home games to follow the Pars are back in the playoff running.
  4. Welcome to the Pars Brad. According to Derek Adams he’ll stroll this league.
  5. I think that’s a really good point for the Pars today against the team I expect to win the league. We have a run of 3 winnable home games coming and if we can add 1 or 2 new players before then we still have a chance of being in the running for a promotion playoff place.
  6. Game day! This promises to be another really tough 90 minutes for the Pars. A performance similar to last time out can only end in a thumping defeat but hopefully the long break and getting Fisher, Otoo and McCann back plus the new signing will reinvigorate the team.
  7. This is a pity but hopefully it can be quickly resolved and isn’t an issue for more than this game. While we may have some players back for the new date we may also have to play 3 in a week which is more difficult with so many out of the squad.
  8. Game day and thanks to the new signing and recovery of Otoo and McCann there should be a decent starting 11 despite all the injuries. There’s unlikely to be much experience on the bench and this will be a tough match against a good Airdrie side. I think a draw will be a good result today.
  9. Welcome to the Pars Malachi. A much needed defensive reinforcement. Not an experienced replacement for Bene but one that fits with the overall recruitment strategy. I’m sure he’ll go straight into the starting 11 and a great opportunity to pick up experience.
  10. The Courier gave a detailed update on some of the injuries but it’s unclear if McCann is still on track to return snd if Otoo might make it. I’m assuming Fisher won’t be ready. The manager is very positive on bringing in a new player for this match, presumably a much needed defender. This is going to be a big challenge for whatever 11 starts, we know some of these are also carrying minor injuries, but we need a much better performance than Friday. I feel a battling 0-0 would be a good result. The team is really going to need the support to get right behind them.
  11. If I he starting 11 are all fully fit I think that’s a competitive team. The issue comes when we need to look to the bench as the cupboard is bare. I think the same would be true for any team in this league with 6 players out.
  12. I thought Otoo would move forward with Breen on the left of the back 3?
  13. No Fisher or Benedictus but some good attacking options on the bench if we need to make changes. A big game today and hopefully an early Xmas present of three points for the Pars!
  14. We’ve only qualified for the Premiership playoffs twice since administration, both times from 4th spot. That means we are currently doing as well as we have since we stopped massively overspending. James McPake has built this side from the bones of one of the worst performing teams during that time period and he’s doing it with a focus on young players with lots of potential. That’s definitely progress over the past eighteen months and hopefully this will continue with the benefit of the new training facility.
  15. A poor first half with two soft goals conceded. Better in the second half without creating enough chances. Our poor record against the top 3 teams continues. It looks as though 4th is the realistic high water mark this season.
  16. A terrific 3 points for the Pars today and great to see Matty Todd scoring again, hopefully he will kick on from here. Another big match next week with the chance to close the gap on 3rd place.
  17. With our recent form it’s a hard one to predict. Hopefully a Pars win with a good performance, given the makeshift defence.
  18. Arbroath were very poor and completely lacking ambition and we put them away well in the second half with the score line not flattering at all. Hopefully this gives the team a boost for Saturday’s match.
  19. An important game today, a win puts us back in the playoff places, loose and we are close to the bottom. It feels like a his league may be that way all season. ICT on a good run but if we cut out the mistakes we could win this one.
  20. I was very disappointed at the result and having had some time to think I’m still disappointed. We played well enough to take at least a point but didn’t. If we can eliminate the errors and start taking our chances we will qualify for the playoffs easily.
  21. What an incredible start to the match. We were very good in the first half, Morton improved a lot in the second but, the aberration for their goal aside, they only caused as problems from corners. We badly needed a result and hopefully we’ve got that bad spell out of our system. 8th place up to 4th with 1 win shows how tight this league is.
  22. A dreadful first half performance, defensively wide open and many poor individual performances. Ayr seemed to win every challenge. We definitely needed to change but the substitutions weren’t right. The best thing to say is that the second half wasn’t so bad as the first. Two really poor performances in a row. Hopefully can stop the rot next week.
  23. Ron Mailer - first Pars captain to lift the Scottish Cup.
  24. This is great news. Yet another talented young player signed-up. If he keeps improving as he has over the past year he’s going to have a great career.
  25. A bad day at the office today. It’s been a while since we’ve been thumped in the league. Hopefully back to our best next week.
