We have the set up off the pitch
We have a a fanbase other clubs would kill for.
We're being short changed on the park.
Been like that for a few years now.
Still ****ed off this morning.
Aye this is a very brief but completely true description of how I feel about it all.

That’s bloody excellent. Well on road to a sellout?

We win 3-0, Thistle beat Airdrie by a couple and then we're all looking towards Friday night, thinking that Utd could beat Airdrie to clinch the title.
United win 4-0 and then all we need to do to take it to the last day is beat ICT at home... 1-0 Caley due to a last minute penalty, everyone in the team plays terribly.
Sounds so simple!!!! 😂

Useless ****ebags.
Credit to that Airdrie team. There’s something about them that reminds me of that Livingston team that went from league 1 to the Premier via playoffs. We need to beat them on Saturday for any chance of 4th.

It’s really good that the club are trying new things, and this has potential to be an excellent event for local people, many of whom may not be pars fans.

Reality is Livingstons core support is around the 1000-1500 mark. Even when they were “flying high” they’d never do much more than 2000 home season tickets. The stadium is far too big for what they need, so they are where they are. Much rather folk from there support their local team than either of the two Edinburgh ones, or worse the Glasgow ones.

Not too worried about Airdrie, that’ll be them on the slide similar to Morton.
A win tomorrow for us and it really does show momentum on our side and suggests we are coming into form at just the right time.

That is a superb win. Absolutely gold stuff. Well done boys.

Kind of game we need to win if any ambition to be in playoffs at right end of the league. Probably our strongest line up and bench this season…?
-
Absolutely Tartan Army Par. They are hugely physical and will be thumping balls into the channels and into our box. Bene being available for this is huge, as is having Otoo and Hamilton in midfield. I hope there will be better protection for Mehmet as we know if they do go direct on top of him it could be a long afternoon. They may still have no Oakley which makes this a very winnable game, but it looks like they are hoping he’s back for this.
I really hope we go all out to win this and not be a turgid “aim not to lose” performance, as this is a chance to really put down a marker as to which play offs we are aiming for. Probably not a better chance to get at this Morton team, and give them a good slap back for what they did to us last month.

There’s a real pleasure to be had when watching your team put on a show on TV in a pub when you’re not in Scotland. Gives you a right good glow. ☺️
United will win this league, and so they should, they have the best players. We utterly did them last night, they were ****e because we made them so.
So pleased for McPake, and he finally out and said it re injuries and the impact. I’ve been saying it for long enough, last season he had options and some of his best work done was in changing games with personnel. He simply hasn’t had that much of that this season. And that’s really exposed his weaknesses and stubbornness. Doesn’t make him a bad manager, like many he will struggle when he doesn’t have the tools. Now he does so it’s a bit more of an even playing field for him.But a note of caution - coming up are Morton who are a very different kettle of fish. Their physical attributes and style have much more of a challenge to us than Uniteds style. Should we perform like last night then we will win, but if Morton get under our skin then it’s a problem. Good news is Oakley will be out injured for them which is a huge miss.
Time for that late promotion play off run now… 😉

8 games left, incl tonight. Bene back gives everyone a lift, not expecting much change from Saturday, so hoping we keep it tight and sneak a goal.
You mean Friday night Dave? 🙂

Was he not injured?
Yes, and has been since. My point is in support that he would be a starter if fully fit. 🙂

Fisher played in the 0-0 at Tannadice, then was missing for the two disasters at home.
Since coming in Kane is undefeated as a Pars player.
Two definite starters if fully fit for me.

Depends how nostalgic you want to get. It wasn't particularly unified back in the 80s when we went to Palmerston. Or in the 90s when we frequented Brockville.
That's in no way defending anyone hard of thinking enough to wreck the toilets or to shout abuse at Chris Hamilton.
That made me chuckle, oh those happy days. 🫣
In seriousness - I do think it is worse now, especially with the behaviour of prominent people and organisations on social media who do things for reactions. Or indeed those who behave in certain ways to get a reaction on social media.
Regardless I hope those who have done this are caught and banned.

Unfortunately @Digs I don’t think it is us all getting auld, society has and is changing. It’s much more divided, intense, reactionary as it ever was. Social media has a huge impact, as does those who use social media as a way to whip up the worst in mob mentality, including organisations. Sometimes they do it in a corporate guise with subtle ways, knowing fine well what they’re doing without any accountability for impact. This then leads to the behaviour we’ve seen. It’s not exclusive to our club or indeed football by any means, but unfortunately it’s individuals within our support that are being highlighted.

James McPake and next season

Some great posts here.
We miss width of any kind. KRH for me is the only player we have that is good enough and natural enough in a wide position. I’m excluding Edwards as I firmly expect him to move on. There would have to be a concerted effort to address this in the new preseason, and it’s a big task. One I don’t think mcpake would do. It would mean a complete abandonment of the main formation he has used over the last 2 seasons.
an alternative (and I think much more likely) is him doubling down on his formation and looking to develop/bring in more players to play it. I can hear the howls of derision already - that’s not my preferred way, but I just think that’s what he will do.
For me, regardless what he decides re formation, there are huge gaps in the team in terms of quality versus most of the league. This means we need to make some player disposals. Whether that’s making them available for transfer or what, it needs doing. Mehmet, OHalleron, Chalmers - all for me in that first wave of most goes, not good enough for the level we should be looking to achieve (title challenge for me). Second wave would include McCann (prefer to loan out at first), Wighton, Comrie. I wouldn’t renew Jakubiaks contract. Much prefer we went for the likes of Burrell at Cove than keep persisting with Wighton and his several underperforming games and recurring injuries.
Either way it should be an exciting summer, but I do fear that we have a recruitment system that is too flat footed and worry we’ll end up scrambling again in both windows, which completely kiboshed our season.
