  1. Why - aren’t the two of them their best players?
  2. Meanwhile - I had a cracking day at cliftonhill. Saw two teams go at it hammer and tongs, 5 goals, a red card, a missed penalty and a late winner. I can’t watch us on streams - it’s bad enough watching us in person. I’d much rather go to any other game in person than see us in that way. Plus, I don’t need to watch a stream to guess the following:- - Breen has a stinker while Gasputis is nowhere in the squad because Hughes says he wants a left footer to pair with Connolly. - OFW will have some culpability for one of the goals - Craig Wighton will be a ghost and McCann will have no service - Dorrans will drop onto The centre backs far too often and teams will just sit in against us - our midfield is non existent and will be over run by more savvy pros at other clubs i didn’t watch the stream and have not read much on here or elsewhere About the game, but I reckon I’m close with my predictions 🙄🤣 Yogi has to turn this round rapid, or we’re going the same way Raith went under him. This entire season has been a disaster and my worry is it could get worse.
  3. Breath of fresh air this place - thanks to those running it. Hope you all have a happy safe peaceful festive time.
  4. Again, let’s not encourage the panic and hysteria. Blunt instruments and all that. Reduce capacities, keep restrictions sensible without default heading to straight full shut down. Saying that, if the players don’t want to play that has to take priority.
  5. What is frustrating for me, is the fact that every time there is a discussion on covid, be it in the pub or social media, is you get the drama queens who hit straight out with the “oh I think we’ll go back into lockdown”. Get that right in the bin. We will be paying for the first sets of these incredibly draconian measures for the rest of this and the next generation - whether that be financially, wider physical health impacts(cancer care, strokes, heart issues), societally or mentally. We must not allow politicians to cover up their failures, by making the default action to be restricting our lives. They’ve had ample chances to beef up the health service infrastructure and look after the future properly and build for pandemic planning going forward. They have failed. It’s absolutely ****ing rotten that we are being made to even think about considering restrictions mandated by legislation, because this virus has behaved exactly as scientists have predicted. It’s an absolute ****e state of affairs and it has been made worse by politicians. What to do now though? Not a clue. But I really hope they don’t start shutting things down again because I think it will kill more people through various impacts on poverty, wellbeing and society than it will from the virus. We do need to live with this bloody thing whether we like it or not.
  6. Suppose many would argue the 2 in the middle hasn’t worked since the 2015/16 season when it was geggan and Falkingham in there, against a lower level opposition. We’ve struggled to win midfield battles over the last few years in that setup. Most championship sides now stick with three in there and either go 4 at the back with 1 up or 3 at the back and sacrifice the wings. Rarely do you see teams making a middle 2 actually work. We just need someone more defensively minded in midfield to get them all to switch on when needed. After every goal we score we immediately do something daft in “attack mode” and leave us wide open. I genuinely think it’s unfair on Dorrans playing him there too, it’s not getting the best out of him.
  7. For a wee while yesterday, Ryan Dow was placed on the right wing and then Comrie came on to a bit of a game overlapping. But this lasted about 5 minutes until a change. Desperately need Dow to support Comrie and vice versa on that right hand side. Comrie has been a shadow this season too, probably because of the mucking about he’s had with positions and the general team performance, but I also think because of the lack of support in front of him. Macdonald is really struggling in that role and there is a risk of hanging him out to dry to keep playing him there. But I understand yogis point about midfield, just feel we have Todd struggling there just now and Ryan Dow wasted. And as Kelty says, Dorrans far too deep. First signing has to be a holding midfielder.
  8. I hope this is true. His “performance” against Thistle at the first game still rankles with me.
  9. I’m glad that the manager has ignored my howls of derision re Kennedy lol. A much brighter performance from him.
  10. I would hope Kennedy is nowhere near the starting line up after last weeks no show with diving flourish before he was hooked. But I have no idea what team or formation I’d play today. I do think we might win though and suspect a scoring return for Kevin O’Hara at some point.
  11. Also let’s be fair, Ross may well be the figurehead of the board but wasn’t alone in making decisions but took brunt of criticism. Who’d be a football chairperson?
  12. We shall see. I know this does make it easier for some of the potential German based players to come over and not test the internationalist rules. If it gets us a gem or two and improves us let’s see how that goes.
  13. No - referee judged it as a straight red - denying obvious goal scoring opportunity with handball. I must admit i watched the video a couple of times and what doesn’t help Dorrans case is his body shape - BUT I think it’s clear enough and should have been clear enough view for the ref to say no handball. Think Yogi is right, Munro guessed. Regardless, that performance was dreadful. And I don’t see elsewhere in the squad much we can rotate to improve from within. Big January coming.
  14. refs had a shocker there. No handball. we deserved feck all but at the same time I’m not convinced Hamilton would have scored other than this gift.
  15. Make no mistake. That performance was one of the worst I’ve ever seen. It was as if Grant was back in the dugout. We didn’t seem to press in any cohesive way, and the gaps between our defence and midfield were shocking.
  16. Don’t even. That today was disgraceful from him. Contributed zero to the game. Was really pleased when he signed at start of season but what a disappointment he has been. And after that disgusting behaviour he can get back to Ibrox pronto. He doesn’t understand that you don’t get easy decisions like that at our level unlike his parent club.
  17. Nah we’d have heard if so from The sweetie wives 😆
  18. Subs:- 5 Ross Graham 7 Kevin O’Hara 9 Craig Wighton 10 Nikolay Todorov 16 Dan Pybus 18 Paul Allan 29 Deniz Mehmet (GK) must be ill or injured
  19. 1 Owain Fôn Williams 2 Aaron Comrie 13 Vytas Gašpuitis 33 Mark Connolly 3 Josh Edwards 6 Kyle Macdonald 17 Graham Dorrans (c) 26 Matthew Todd 8 Kai Kennedy 11 Ryan Dow 14 Lewis McCann starting 11, no Dom…. Can’t see bench yet
  20. Think you’re right there Raymie. A good experienced assistant may well have helped him in the tougher times. But then did he not appoint his own man so comes back to him again in terms of choice?
  21. He gave it away a few times. He will Do if he’s asked to play in that way in that position. We need a CDM in at the window so we can push Dorrans further forward.
  22. I wonder if Steven Mill taking over the Q&A for the second half actually hindered things? He didn’t allow much time for folk to think about questions, and felt he had to fill In silences (suppose that’s the radio experience) but next time let it flow a bit more naturally and then maybe more pressing questions would have come forward. 2 Big ticket items for me are coming good - a CEO and the training ground. Excellent news. Otherwise overall pretty positive. Nick Teller came across brilliantly I thought and you can see his quality. Ross was very good but it’s so clear he needs a break, poor man looked done in. I’ll reserve my longer term judgement on Yogi for now, lots of consistency in what he says but a lot of bluster in repetition too. Have other thoughts on some concerns about the other guys running things and q couple of behaviours that I’d be concerned about longer term with Ross not there, but keeping them to myself for now. A worthwhile evening, be useful to do quarterly with say a monthly zoom/virtual update I reckon if fan engagement really is sought after.
  23. Must have been sitting close to you, could see it was on its way in the moment it left his foot, beautiful. aye and I wonder how much of this needs to be addressed with signing a strong holding midfield player with presence. Centre backs arguably could have pushed and pressed a bit more but they are probably not wanting to get pulled and leave gaps. This is the risk of playing Dorrans for me, the hard defensive side of his game is missing - and can be exploited if you don’t have a particularly strong defence behind him.
