  1. Everyone’s minds to implode as we win 2-1. 🤯
  2. I presume the police have been informed and the individual will be dealt with? That’s just gutter behaviour.
  3. Hmm. If he wasn’t supportive of it then he should have resigned in protest. He’s the chairman and he’s seen as the figurehead whether he likes it or not, and he knows that. If he was that against the content, then walk or make a stand and refuse to part of its release. But that last paragraph is very similar to the style of stuff he’s written in the past when outlining unacceptable behaviour so I doubt that he’s that far away from it. By the way - Of course directors/staff shouldn’t be getting abuse - it’s awful. Ross isn’t a bad guy - but he is part of the problem at the moment and needs to realise there is a window of opportunity for recovery of the situation. Get that statement deleted, apologise, reword it and try and unite the fans. Other clubs and supporters are having a right good laugh at how bad it was. That statements done more for reputational damage than any action of a fan so far.
  4. Well the statement has achieved one thing… focus has fair come away from the manager and the team eh! 😂
  5. What’s the email address for Ross/board contact? If someone has it but doesn’t want to post it and send it by PM thats cool and would be appreciated.
  6. I’ve never been so gobsmacked in all my time watching the Pars. When Masterton et al came away with their nonsense, it was obvious it was keich and there was no trust. This time, I just can’t believe it. Actually can’t believe it. I drove back from Dumfries seeing Peter Grant in a pretty awful state coming off the park, and listening to his words post match - I really felt for him. He knew it was the end. The players knew it was the end too, especially seeing Dom Thomas practically dancing across the park applauding the fans. I get that the board are hurting, we all are, but to sit and write out that statement, all read it and sign it off, I don’t understand how they can do that in good conscience and think - aye, that’ll look after our fan base and we can unite. It’s almost as if they’ve employed James Traynor to write it, and said to him “pretend the fans are the media out to get you, and write it in that style”. The paragraph about the fans behaviour is insulting. How dare they. You can’t go playing up the fans and their ur giving support, to then feign surprise at 20 or 30 shouting GTF to a manager who hasn’t won a game in 8, in a league he sad we’d be looking to win. I mean if one thing is confirmed, it’s that the existing board need help. The optics are awful. The German consortium have been either badly advised, or just don’t get it, or even worse, don’t care. If it’s the latter, then we really are in trouble. Im really not looking forward to the Killie game, but I’ll be there and I’ll support the team. But if the board are wondering if they’ll hear the fans … they’re about to get their answer loud and clear. from the jaws of opportunity, somehow yet again the Pars have found a new way to get a defeat.
  7. Holy ****sticks Batman. That is an absolute joke. Wouldn’t blame those paying lifelines if they cancelled them.
  8. Cheers Digs I didn’t think so and thanks for clarifying. I just hope the board get step 1 correct and have the statement out today to wish Peter Grant all the best and start the search for a new gaffer. Rosythpar, I worry about Yogi and the time he would get from fans to get it turned around. Like it or not what happened up the road will draw parallels that are worrying. I agree Shields might have to go as well I’m afraid as he (and Whittaker for this season) have been part of this underperformance as a coaching team. But if new manager wants to keep him then that should be respected.
  9. Digs, some fair points there. However I would hope you’ve not seen my post as a sole partisan piece without any logic behind it. For me at least Petrie understands the club, and knows the Scottish game with playing in it and managing (albeit in the lower leagues). He has shown ability at taking an underperforming side from the depths of league 2 to a consistent performer in the top end of league 1. That said, I’m all for a full recruitment process as we do need to get this right. Wouldn’t be displeased nor surprised should that churn out Petrie as the best candidate. Also, three managers have got us up from the second tier into the top tier since the 80’s. Leishman, Paton and McIntyre. All ex-players. With football being such an emotional game, sometimes the ex player factor does play positively. Shouldn’t be a sole factor of course, see Crawfords reign as an example - although the stattos would argue with hindsight that Crawford oversaw consistent improvement in league placings!
  10. Let’s face it, Grant is gone. We can argue about whether it should have happened earlier or not another time but for now, he’ll be well gone by end of this week. What we DO need to do, is for once, make a decision that shows a bit of ambition. For me, there is only one manager out there who we could take on, that the fans will give the necessary time to turn round. I don’t care how much it costs, we go out and get Petrie. For all the chat around cost, we are losing so much money through lack of fan engagement and apathy. A decent marketing campaign behind Petrie appointment would have 5000 at the Killie game. Easy. There’s an extra £30k-£40k for starters. If things do go wrong, and this squad simply isn’t good enough to stay in this league then at least Petrie would be the one manager who could stay in charge and get a full Opportunity to bring us back up. Let me be clear I don’t think we’d go down but it would be foolish to think we are too good to go down. In summary, I think the risks of NOT appointing Petrie are higher than the risk of appointing him, costs included. For me there really is only one course of action for the board. Get it done, get it tied up, give him a week of full training before the Killie game, and smash that reset button. Game on.
  11. And Im all for it. I want a John Brown and that referee match up from the cup tie in 88.
  12. That’s a pretty good balanced summary Digs. Dom Thomas bugs me. Guys been well off it all season.
  13. Comes with its own bag of confidence.
  14. More chance my left bollock with a smiley face drawn on it getting the job than Lee McCulloch. Both preferable to Peter Grant right enough 😉
  15. Good luck to your Mrs. Defo opportunity to buy in the big bags of sweets/chocs coz as you say, cakes too messy especially for kids and would be good to have a chocolate/sweets option. for the north west, milk sugar and a wee waste box/basket on the left (where they always leave the shutter down) will give space for folk to move to for adding milk and sugar that then gives more space for the queue and get folk served quicker.
  16. I’m in the North West and while there are some rockets as with any support - majority are sound. Overwhelmingly supportive and positive I thought on Saturday in terms of the fan reaction. This has indeed bought enough good will to take to the Hamilton game. A draw at home will bring negativity but maybe not enough to derail him for the Raith game. He needs to win one from the two and avoid defeat at both. I do fear a loss in either really is (and should be) the end. Ultimately it’s a results business, everyone knows that, and to be bottom after playing those two still would be completely unacceptable.
  17. I first read that and thought you were kidding on and at the wind up. Then I googled… 😂.
  18. This. I was there at the end at the corner of the terracing watching it. Basically the players had to walk within 2 feet of some of the fans who were bent over the barriers screaming abuse in their faces. When Dorrans came in the volume went up a wee bit and one fan in particular was almost within touching distance. Something obviously quite personal was said and Dorrans said to him (only him) “f*** off”. That was all I saw. Fan got off lucky I think considering. If they were face 2 face in the street doubt he’s that brave. Dorrans has been woeful for us, but one thing for him, he keeps trying, making self available. He makes mistakes, he’s doing that classic player from a previous high level thing of expecting much more from those about him. He may not work out for us, but he is by far the least of our problems I think.
  19. What always interests me is how we never think outside the box about these things. Example, if we decided to bin Grant and appoint Petrie, a good sized marketing campaign to welcome the new manager, return of a legend would easily pull In a 5000+ crowd. 2000 extra sales at £15 average per pop, theres 6 month wages for them in the bank - sorted! easy innit? Gies that CEO job now eh.
  20. Think you underestimate the fickleness of football fans, and especially Pars fans. I reckon a win v Inverness and you’ll have a large section starting to give it the “give him a chance, he’s turning it round”. I actually can see us drawing on Saturday, and the board continuing to keep him. The whole thing is utterly depressing.
  21. Merely pointing out the irony of someone bemoaning drivel on the BBC, furthermore saying that if fans read more of their own posts then they’d be better informed, and then not proof reading your own posts. I’ll let you crack on and have a grown up conversation with someone else then 👍
  22. If only you could spell the name of the man right, at least the BBC got that correct. Better informed eh? 😂😂
