  1. I agree a rotation would be ideal. Not sure how often would be cost effective. In an ideal world it would be every season but i'd imagine that would be expensive, if it was doable tho it would give the option of grouping players together by era instead of aiming for a spread, only workable if its possible to do it regularly otherwise I'd agree to stick with mix of eras. As someone who likes to pretend, but increasingly isn't a young supporter. Calderwood- Mason, Nicholson, brewster, skella, Tod, Nipper, Bullen, Hunt, *skella * Craw two jimmys(appreciate they left under a cloud but long enough to let things slide) Ruitinbeek(ok stillie has a shot but despite my two jimmies comment i can be petty), vinoli(lets have a laugh), Young brothers. struggling slightly for a 17th calderwood era, but I'd guess it would need to go to wilson. Mcintyre - Gibson, Cardle, Graham, Hardie, Rusty , McCann, Kirk, Bell, Woods Phinn, bayne, Ross(more so for leighman 2 era, but thats a very short list), burke, Mcdougall, holmes. Mcintyre, McCabe(probably the most deserving no2) Johnston Clark, faiss, cardle, Geggan, Falky, Murdoch, Reid, Bryne, wallace, moff, talbot, martin, Paton, J. Longridge, higgy, morris, AJ I'm a touch stretched when pushed to 17 for these, but feel I could certainly put a strong 10 together, with a few unfortunate to miss out. I do think single era does allow true legends to be shown, but some of their more prominent teammates to also get a shout out. * for already included which would exempt them for mixed era update. If we go Multi era these guys are in with a shout. Brewster, Craw, Tod, Nipper, Bullen, Mason, Skella, Cardle, Hardie, Hammil(pitty there isn't a succesful era he can be put in) I am aware of the greats before my time, but it would be unfair of me to judge them, I didn't see them play in the flesh and I doubt any video could do them justice. Prefer the posters who saw them play to put them forward.
  2. Give me a team winning 1-0 boring football within a second. I know I'm a bit of a weirdo, but there's parts of football that I really enjoy that have absolutely nothing to do with goal scoring. Holding it up in the corner, yes please. Keepers acting like their legs have turned to jelly everytime the make a simple catch, count me in. Even when its being done against us, things like the killie keeper taking the ball to the back corner of his box and doing the fake pick up routine with o'hara. I enjoy watching a well organized defense, who will use the dark arts where needed. That italy defensive line was great entertainment over the summer, I know its against england which makes it funnier but how joyous was chellini's shirt pull? Mourinho's inter killing barca's great passing side was perfect. And that's before we get too great blocks/tackles or worldie saves. By far our best moment this season was OFW stop vs rovers. I watched chelsea scramble the ball clear for 45 minutes vs brentford and enjoyed the pure class of mendy to win it for them, whilst also appreciating the convenient injuries that cropped up when they needed time to re-set, On the flip side I want to murder wingers who try to beat a man and lose the ball in their defensive third, Lose your man at a set piece? Your for it. Great goals are fantastic to watch, but if I'm a neutral and a goal should have been prevented I can find myself more frustrated at the defending than enjoying the goal. As I say, a bit of a weirdo, but teams doing everything they can to win is what I want to watch.
  3. No. I was at east end. Many did seem happy with Saturday, But for me it missed the most crucial bit. Football is all about winning. You can have as many entertaining draws as you like, you won't ever get success with that.
  4. You have made most of that up in your head. You didn't like that I called our inability to win at the 9th(ninth!) attempt embarrassing, because you want to treat every game individually and ignore the context of the season. I consider things in the greater picture. We have no control over what other teams do, they'll gain points against each other, they'll drop points against each other. I wouldn't argue they can all win every week cos that's stupid, nor can they all lose. What we do know is that the team in 4th place will have something approaching 27 points, maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less by the end of the next quarter, the team at the top will have roughly 36 and the ones near the bottom will be on about 16/17. This doesn't change much season on season, baring extreme Brechin like performances. Sorry for talking about anything other that didn't occur between 3 and 5 on saturday, as this website must be neatly separated into nice little boxes...
  5. It was possible for us to win every single game so far this season(individually obviously before you try to make it sound like I expect maximum points), the only reason we have failed in that is peter grant. We're not playing against champions league sides. Teams above us can get point other weeks you know, just cos we beat them one week doesn't mean they can't win the next. If we win the next 5 on the bounce(which right now is fantasy land stuff) then in context of the full season so far grant will still be behind where he should be. I'm not saying he can never get to a point where he'll reach an acceptable position, I'm just saying what it will take for him to achieve that, we can make our own judgements on if we consider that realistic. As said if he wins the next 6 that will have got slightly above the minimum standard. if we get 10 wins from the next 10 he'll have got himself close to the maximum we can achieve, which is 2 points a game. In case you missed it. We're further behind 1st than before the weekend, and the same distance to 4th. No ground gained which is something we need to do if were going to do anything positive this season We're closer to safety which I am delighted about, unfortunately that is now the current aim. IF (and it's a huge IF) we succeed at that this season Grant will still have likely failed in his objective. I see no reason why we should be hanging around to wait and see just how badly he fails before getting a proper manager in.
  6. Its almost like attacking your core fan base has consequences...
  7. No I said I go wanting to win, big difference to expecting. Its embarrassing failure due to the accumulation of the previous weeks. Drawing a game is ok when you have other results to back it up. We don't and its needs to be clear that its not ok. Its going to take a serious run of form for things to get anywhere close to acceptable. We have 5 points from 9 games, unacceptable, we beat partick its 8 from 10. Unacceptable, we beat rovers is 11 from 11, unacceptable , we beat arbroath its 14 from 12, unacceptable, beat morton its 17 from 13, getting there, but likely we'll still be out the minimum standard of being in a play off spot. It probably takes 4 points from inverness and ayr for a turnaround to be on even if we find a miracle and get those wins. That's how bad things have been allowed to get, and that's how good we need to get before fans should be content with drawing at home. You can't isolate games, they must be taken into context. Edit- having done the sums it actually requires us to beat both inverness and ayr to get us above 1.5 points per game, which is what you need for the play-offs. After 0/9 we need to go 6/6 just to get to our minimum.
  8. Should be not be entitled to expect our team to have won a few games by now? We're not expecting to win every week, but after 9 attempts the team have failed each and every time.
  9. The club have disrespected him asking him to work under a fraud, ignoring his and other players frustrations and backing a proven failure. I’d be very angry if I was being asked to play under tactics that were blatantly wrong and being talked down too and thrown under a bus by the manager in public. There must be a huge amount of sympathy for the players just now, yes they might not always react correctly but they’ve been put in a horrible position by the board. There’s a reason several players have commented on the poor decisions of the manager, it’s not because guys that were good pros last year have suddenly decided to change their ways, it because the guy in charge of them is a absolutely terrible at his job.
  10. There will be no need. Guys like watson have been good pros under proper managers for 10+ years. Like under kenny any rift between players and management quickly end when the fraud they are asked to work for gets emptied.
  11. I go wanting my team to win. They didn't and needed a last minute goal to draw. This should be recognized as another week of embarrassing failure. Draws are ok if your winning regularly, when your not they shouldn't be accepted. We have gone a full round of fixtures without a win. That should always result in a manager being booted.
  12. if watson has lost respect for the manager you can't blame him. It's a very difficult situation for defenders when they are looking at clear faults in our tactics that are leaving them hung out to dry. Clearly if rumours of going on holiday are true that is a problem, but a problem created by the manager playing horrific tactics, bad mouthing players in public and expecting them to not to react. Players not respecting our management have my full support. They are doing the right thing.
  13. I think we'll be missing vytas for a few weeks at least. Breen looks the most likely to get his spot, but it surely should mean watson gets on the bench?
  14. It’s very rare for clarke’s sides to look comfortable, but they are regularly finding a way to get the job done. That deserves immense credit.
  15. I’m not calling him a f***y cos we’re just playing badly, I’m calling him that cos it’s how he comes across. We’ve had people I don’t like be successful with us, people I like be successful , People I like be unsuccessful and people like grant who are neither a good at their job or have a decent personality.
  16. You guys serious? every single interview he gives his arrogance shines though, the guy thinks he's far better than what he is. Right from him declaring his CV would blow everyone else away. He's a jumped up f***y and needs to be kicked out the club ASAP.
  17. It’s not self-belief he has, it’s outright arrogance.
  18. He's had a chance, and failed.
  19. We've gone from absolutely dreadful to better, but still quite ****e. That's not the standard any of us should accept. I get the board need to take a step back from the heat in the moment fans have, but what a manager achieves on a matchday is by far the most important thing they can do. We're nearly a 1/4 of the way into the season and he's failed, badly, at that.
  20. I'm still confused why he's still here tbh. Not going to waste my energy shouting for it tho, its clear the board don't want to listen to fans and will keep him going as long as they can get away with it. Even if we win the next 2 we have had a dreadful opening quarter. My only hope is we can get squeeze out enough points out of grant that 8th is achievable once we bring a proper manager in.
  21. I like the coverage but the whole set up is right for what it is. Doesn't take itself seriously at all I can see why the presenting can be not ideal for some, but its so far beyond any other football show its a must watch for me.
  22. Have you seen any other interviews? He’s repeatedly thrown the players under the bus. I doubt he’s suddenly decided to protect them, protect himself far more likely.
  23. Grant has absolutely not been doing that!
  24. Absolutely yes. We can’t allow any bigger gap to grow and he’s under pressure already given performances and his general attitude. Win or be sacked should be the only options here.
