  1. It's certainly not a comfortable thought. They usually fall apart after January and I hope they do so again. That or too many draws may save us. If we're looking safe towards the end of the season and they're still in it I would hope we'd roll over to any of their rivals and let them get a decent GD boost.
  2. No foul, looks like he he’s twisted awkwardly when he’s changed direction. No head knock so no requirement for immediate stoppage, increasing often we are seeing refs stop games for other injuries but they usually only to so when the ball isn’t in a dangerous area and the player has been down a while, not the case here. Had it been an outfielder I doubt anyone would question it. You could argue with the significance of the goalkeeper the ref should be quicker to stop play, but IMO that would give too much opportunity for keepers to play act.
  3. Agreed @rosythpar I was worried every time the ball went near him.
  4. Talbot going to be a threat to anyone in the cup, especially at home, I wouldn't read much into it.
  5. I’m getting a feeling Ross is tying things up from his tenure just now. In quick succession we’ve had the supporters council, the formal announcement of the training ground, formal announcement of the academy starting up and now an article explaining why he has chosen to step down. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Cook introduced in the next wee while.
  6. The requirements for meeting the elite level were insane last time I read them. Maybe a longer term goal, or at least wait and see until the CAS revamp
  7. Football had already gone soft by that point. Go a generation or two earlier and teams would play double headers on Xmas day!
  8. Kilmarnock can’t play Sunday due to having Hamilton in the diddy cup next Tuesday.
  9. They shouldn’t do. If police are required/ requested inside the ground we get charged. If we don’t have police in the ground but ask for them to attend an incident we don’t get charged(in much the same way as you or I saying we’ve been robbed) Anything outside the ground is just general policing. They are not responding to Dunfermline athletic, they are responding to a public safety possibility due to a large number of pedestrians near a public road. As soon as we leave the ground we aren’t customers of DAFC, we are the general public.
  10. police probably felt a need to act given the high profile. Small fine and everyone gets on with things. Probably about right all round.
  11. I don't remember any competent penalty claim, afolabi took a hopefully tumble with the ball going out of play, is that was you are talking about? Agree it should have been an ayr goal kick for our first, but we had two cleared off the line from corners, It was one of many areas where we completely dominated them. Not a fan at all about talking about luck in football, 99% of the time what is called luck is within control of the players. You mention saves, fon williams saving a couple of shots is nothing at all to do with luck, its him doing better than the shot taker.
  12. I’ve just checked and there’s no flying pigs outside. So no is the answer. The leagues split in two and if we can avoid the bottom 2 spots in our half I’ll be absolutely delighted.
  13. Can’t appeal yellow cards. Dundee united apparently investigating. I’d expect the fan to be banned.
  14. It’s been very odd this season, sometimes not stopping traffic, sometimes being late to do so, stopping traffic at different places. Not sure why they need to change from what’s worked for decades.
  15. Fantastic today, Ayr are a limited side but so are a lot of teams in this division including ourselves at times. We had them chasing shadows for the full 2nd half, the entire team deserve a lot of credit. Delighted for McCann, hope he uses this platform to kick on.
  16. It's the same thing after Rodgers went to Leicester. They get so caught up in the rivalry they forget there's a whole world of football that doesn't include them.
  17. 4-2-3-1 for me. Our best asset is our attacking options and this gets the best from them. It offers interchange of positions that the front 4 will mostly enjoy. defensively the back 4 should cope given the right cover from midfield, especially the deeper 2. Regardless of the formation hughes needs to streghten the midfield.
  18. Tone is crucial. I'm a big fan of taking the **** out of each other, and I don't have a problem with hughes pulling players legs if he's willing to take it back. I'm not sure if on day one hughes could be comfortable such a comment would be appreciated as banter, and all of us need to remember its how the recipient of comments views these things that matters. You can't dismiss something hurtful to someone else as 'only banter' , you need to know your both on the same page about what's acceptable before pushing the limits.
  19. Got a bad feeling about this, But he has had success in the past, hopefully he gets us going quickly and that feeling goes away.
  20. Just seems to be a never ending line of crookes who end up in the boardroom, IMO is self-protection, once one set have had their way they don't want someone who'll come in and clean things up, they want the next guy to be as keen to hide the damage as they were.
  21. As things stand we could get the first 5 goals and my thoughts go to wondering how we'll blow that lead.
  22. It's a worry of mine, and is why a strong character such as robbo holds a bit more appeal right now, someone who is going to come in and take full authority over first team affairs.
  23. Excited for the match for the for time in ages. Mon the DA.
  24. Good stuff, you're too quick and I couldn't expand on my first comment to say I agreed with your first point fully. I don't agree on how you'd think yogi would be but we're both working with limited info.
