  1. There is the next concern, players who know they will not be here next season. What does it matter to them to be busting a gut for the team on Friday or in the play offs, their only concern is going to be not to get injured preventing them from signing for us or another club and earning a living. We will really be relying on the longer contract players to give 110% knowing that their futures are impacted the most with any demotion.
  2. Haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere, does anyone know the loan terms of our loan players, and our out of contract players? Relevant if they end on 1/5/22 or at the end of the current playing season.
  3. The one thing I can't understand is we play better on an attack footing, when the players are given license to press. Yet it always is not the go to! He does not trust the pleyers, it's obvious that we struggle with defensive football. Refuses to play 442, 532 or 433, which would all take pressure of the defence and give players an incentive to push forward! We have the players just not the manager to set up the team to play to its strengths!
  4. Dear Keyser Soze, Please forgive me if I have hurt your very sensitive feelings I apologise profusely for this and I will for ever more scrutinise my own posts to ensure I never unknowingly cause distress to another fully grown adult within this forum. Cheers RM.
  5. I wasn't talking about all I specifically pointed to a 25 year old full time professional footballer, Are you serious? Every human body is different. We don’t all have the exact same ceiling when it comes to fitness. I’m actually amazed you required an explanation. So that constitutes a literal scientific fact? Ok we'll leave it there.
  6. I'm fine, waiting on you explaining on why you think full time 25 year professional footballers shouldn't be expected to have the same level of fitness.
  7. Yes I'm serious they are professional athletes, sportsman footballers full time. As such fitness should be paramount. It makes headlines all the time when a player looks unfit or out of shape. Do you actually think a club say we are not signing a player because he can't play twice a week because he will never be fit enough? You really are making a bit of a fool of yourself now!
  8. We are talking about fitness, athlete, sportsman. Not skill, not technique, not ability. Why is it absurd to expect 25 year old full time player to be as fit as any other player in any other league? Do Liverpool or Man City players have access to different gym equipment than other players? I would love to hear your reasoning here?
  9. Listened to it on RS in Inverness, and it sounded like one way traffic all night,. They said Rovers 1st shot on goal was in the 80th minute. Don Thomas, Kev O'Hara and Col Donaldson were getting all the plaudits, especially Col when he bailed out Efe after another sloppy moment!. For the 1st time I believe we have a chance of getting above Ayr. However a question are Rairh full time? Everyone saying they looked tired and McGlynn bemoaning a busy schedule. Sorry this doesn't wash anymore with me. Any full time clubs players should be as fit Liverpool, Man City etc etc who really are slammed with games but keep producing the results. Discuss if all full time football teams should be as fit as each other?
  10. I've worked beside Asbestos inspection companies in some of the most horrendous conditions, including the old Edinburgh Royal Infirmary which is getting renovated into homes, the levels of these surveys were enormous, in every area of the buildings, destructive and far reaching and we were in them on and off for over 3 years while the surveys and subsequent removals were taking place. We are still engaged in the project on a regular basis and to date no hold ups have happened due to further asbestos being found. I wasn't levelling any blame on the club, hardly their level of expertise. However if a pre inspection report has been done by a company and all asbestos outlined and removed then for further asbestos to be found is an indication that the survey was not done properly and that is now having an impact on the training ground refurbishment and potentially financial repercussions. However whether any work should be getting done without planning permission is another question. The last statement from the club on the training ground appears to be November with very little or anything since, usually by now you'd expect to see plans, artists impressions even 3D models but we have been told nothing just rumours. As has been said by many before keeping fans updated and engaged should be a high priority for a community club, hell we need some good news and encouragement at the moment.
  11. If this is true and the HSE are involved due to no surveys being carried out its not good news. Its compulsory for all buildings to be surveyed prior to any demolition or refurbishment work being carried out. All asbestos found has to be tested and removed as per the regulations usually requiring encapsulation of building or areas and all asbestos being gathered and sealed before removal. It can be a long and expensive process.
  12. I honestly think it is now possible they are waiting to see what league we are going to be in now! This season was all about bettering last season. You have to ask if we are relegated will we even be able to stay full time, let alone spend thousands on a new training complex for 3rd tier football! No idea how long a planning and building would take but if everything is ready to go and I'd presume the Purvis Group would be building it won't take too long to do what is initially required. They built a full brand new full size Astro at Fettes College last year in about 6 weeks with floodlights.
  13. You would think so, but the fact an Astro pitch needs planning all the other factors will come as standard. Also I'd imagine if they are going to have floodlights that would be a consideration too. Anyone know whether it will be for sole use or will it be available for hire?
  14. I'm afraid they do, and are subject to very strict impact assessments on noise and parking which will take a good while to complete and involve the public consultation of the nearby houses. Also I think the old Civil Service building was having major works or was going to be knocked down and rebuilt to meet the requirements for the training facility. Not having any planning submissions at this point would make me think that next pre season 23/24 are more realistic than anytime soon. Every new build of a sports facility be it a Multi Use Games Area - MUGA, Synthetic Turf Pitch - STP, tennis court, cricket pitch, 3G rugby pitch, 3G football pitch or running track will require planning permission if the facility is to be built. http://www.pitchandtrack.com/design_and_planning.asp#:~:text=Every new build of a,facility is to be built.
  15. Great Team performance last night, they worked as a team back to front and front to back. The pressing preventing Partick playing was crucial in the win and opened up the spaces behind to allow the likes of Dom and Todd to get into. Ambrose reminds me of Sol Bamba, 90% of the time does what he needs to, then he has a brain fart and thinks he is way better than he is dribbling out of defence, he got away with a couple last night which ought to have been punished. Yes I think the last to performances have had a Scott Brown influence on them, it was a very typical old Celtic style, holding the midfield and letting the wing backs in from behind, then the long ball time to time when they spread wide to cut out the runners to leave them exposed. The tactics for the first time in a long time were far from predictable, there was change, there was pace and different players moving and doing different things, we would have been a handful for any team last night. Well Played Pars.
  16. According to the Fife Council Planning Applications, no plans for the ground have been submitted.
  17. Play like we did in the 2nd Half over Morton, with 2 strikers and we can win with ease. Play 1 up front and we'll be lucky to win more likely to draw.
  18. Injuries at the club have been a long running theme probably since Pip Yeates and Pud left. Long term injuries with sometimes very little other information where players just seem to be forgotten about. Whether these injuries are occurring due to the training, warm ups, warm downs or lack of the correct exercise routines is anyones guess but we do seem to have a ongoing incident rate. It is more frustrating when you see good players released after suffering weeks or months injured our club suddenly going on to make full recoveries with their new club. That again raises questions in the players themselves that only they will know the answer too.
  19. I'm all for defending goalkeepers, and it's easy to point out the odd mistakes he has made, which are easy when playing behind a poor defence continually exposing you to situations where your services are required, law of averages says you will make a mistake, or be caught in the wrong position of fluff a kick/pass out. You see it every week, Liverpool did it twice last night. If we had a keeper good enough in the Championship to save everything a poor defence is letting him be the hero game in game out he would soon be snapped up. Same as strikers and any striker, Mo Salah has a great goalscoring record due to the amount of chance he gets, but you watch how many he misses or makes the wrong decision. Our strikers are even worse they get very few chances and struggle to convert them, blame for losing games is easy to point at a keeper. If a striker has 5 chances to score and misses and a keeper has 3 saves to make and lets 1 in who cost the team the points? I tell you what it is a lonely place 10 yards away from fans when you have made a mistake, they hear every comment, and you wonder why they lose confidence. Every keeper are their own worst critic trust me.
  20. Hits the nail on the head. It's down to poor player management, a contract is a contract we agree to tear them up we reap what we so. Why are these players not fighting for their places like at other clubs? What are the messages from the management they are getting? When we need a team ready for a battle, a fight to stay in the league we have players young players at that who are allowed just to walk away when they could and should be future assets, being brought on learning how football works. Something fundamentally wrong with the playing structure within the club to be at this stage at a very important stage.
  21. It would be less destructive than Nicholar's idea for NATO to enforce a no fly zone over Ukraine, but still folk would vote for her if she started world war 3 by shooting down Russian planes.
  22. Once again, I would love to know the thinking and more importantly who applied for the position before being able to understand why Yogi was the best candidate. We will never know I suppose but I said at the time I wasn't enthused with the appointment. Hopefully he can pull of a great escape and turn it all around and go on to become a Par hero. At the moment he appears to be the special Falkirk agent to Fife. 😱
  23. All those free agents worth millions going to be making fortunes for themselves and their agents with huge signing on fees. While Chelsea go into freefall
