char
Why does Dunfermline have no Japanese or Thai restaurants? As mentioned on the Indian thread the town has a lot of Indians, but also Chinese, Italian etc. Even Kirkcaldy is about to get a Japanese place. El Patrón
No idea, it would be great if a decent Thai was to open up in the town though, give the people a bit more choice from Italian/indian.
Vinnie
Because Fifers are too "traditional", there isnt enough interest. As much as Dunfermline is expanding, theres not enough folk to make it justifiable?
worldwiderab
Well I have a good idea why not ask ThaiPar from the other channel to come home and set up a Thai restaurant. I'm sure it would be popular with many on here. That is making me hungry thinking about pad thai now.
JR Ewing
The town is useless for sit in Chinese too. Was a sad sad day when Blossom closed down.
Fu_Manchu
Thai Par running a restaurant? He would be banning punters on a regular basis. Noble Cuisine used to do Thai dishes or their attempts, which were not that good tbh. As for Japanese, we haven't had a decent Mexican restaurant ever, so very much doubt we will see a Japanese restaurant in the town...

Out of townies more like!*Thai as in has a menu distinct from Chinese, but run by Chinese people who have diversified to stand out.

Lord Harris Of Tweed
There is a Thai takeaway in Lumphinnans and, perhaps unsurprisingly, it is utterly terrible. Food arrived cold, and appeared to consist of sub standard Chinese food with a bit of Lemongrass thrown on top.Even the delivery guy was complaining that it was so overpriced that what few customers there were were not too keen to tip him. IpswichPar
Can't see Thaipar wanting to come back given how amazing it sounds over there.Still, having your own restaurant sounds better than driving a van and having a boss.
char
Well, this escalated quickly...Going back on topic, if cultural backwaters like Kirkcaldy and Falkirk can support a Japanese restaurant then why not Dunfermline? Also, never trust a place that says Chinese AND Thai. It's like saying you do Italian and French.
