  1. Which to be fair to Mehmet, he didn’t make many blunders at all last season with Benedictus in front of him.
  2. Depends how you measure “progress”, what metrics and timescales. On pitch, from when McPake took over to now, very different in terms of results. At the very least I know that the players he puts on the park are well drilled and are committed to doing their best. At worst we look a mid table championship team with a few issues that we’re working on. So that’s progress in comparison to where he started. But is it progress compared to Crawfords last season? Up for debate. Progress compared to AJs 2nd last season? Again debatable. Where McPake may have the edge is there are more players with potential to grow. What May restrict him is his loyalty to a couple of those who aren’t producing right now. Off the pitch though the saline hill puma has a point. We now have more paid staff (non playing) than we’ve had since administration and we have a building site of a training facility. Otherwise in terms of measuring output, we are indeed exactly where we were when they came in with regard to league standing, having spent time going backwards. The plans all sound good but right now you can see why the detractors are so minded. Nisbet money has come and gone into cash flow so that’s no longer a “nest egg” as revealed at last supporters forum. “Significant losses” were incurred by our time in league 1. Conclusions could include that we haven’t in fact progressed at all since the new owners came in. If anything taking into account losses and erosion of cash flow, potentially gone backwards? Once the training facility is complete and the changes to the professionalism of the commercial operation come through with increased revenue, we could then argue for progression. It’s certainly not a “black and white science”. sorry 🤣
  3. I absolutely blamed Mehmet for the first goal at the time, as did my sister who was at the game with me today, her first time watching the Pars for a couple of years. She couldn’t believe how bad he was for both goals. Suppose we will see soon when the goals are shown on X. But teams are definitely targeting Mehmets inability to command his box, Morton did it couple of weeks ago, and Partick did it today. As for your other point, if people who have paid for a ticket want to leave 5 mins into a game or 50 minutes or be the last one there, then good on all of them. Personally I’ve left a few games early when it’s clear we’re simply not going to get anything out of it. Why not? I’ve paid my money, I give plenty of support when I’m there.
  4. lol, don’t… onto the game - two gifts from our keeper, we played the majority of that game with zero aggression. I was surprised we scored. Partick had the game won in the first half with the simple stuff done well. To progress we need, a goalie and a striker. But then we all knew that already.
  5. To be fair to the Airdrie left back, he was the only one out of their team that looked to take the initiative and drive forward - though a pretty damning indictment on the rest of their players. Thought they were dreadful on Saturday. Onto tomorrow, the big question - if all 3 centre backs are indeed fit, which do you bring back and for who? I reckon there’s a solid argument for all three to return, but how in the hell do you drop Hamilton or Otoo? If shuffling either or both into midfield, does Allan make way despite having probably the longest run of games in his career? Surely Chalmers doesn’t drop out after being one of the best on the park on Saturday? Depending on how this virus thing has affected the team, could be a very interesting selection headache for the manager!
  6. Drop Comrie to the bench is more likely based on recent decisions.
  7. To be fair though, we’ve not lost to them. Hopefully that continues Saturday.
  8. Proper belly laughed there - they are beyond parody at times. Saying all that, I remember a previous forum where a questioner was ridiculed for asking why there wasn’t a big “Dunfermline athletic” sign on the stadium, and was bold enough to further suggest that attendances would rise as people would know what the building was. Well, here we are with the stands all fully branded and attendances are up, maybe he wasn’t such a moonhowler after all. 😂😂😂
  9. I agree GG. Otoo may have been signed as a centre back, but for me he has a brain fart per game ratio higher than average, and he’s not strong enough in the air (yet) to have CB as his strongest position in this team. I really enjoy watching him in midfield as he seems to bring physicality and has an eye for a good driving run or pass. That’s not to say eventually he will be stronger and more natural at CB, right now for me though his performances in midfield have been some of his best in a Pars jersey.
  10. What defenders aren’t getting a game at Dundee just now? Asking for a friend 😂
  11. Very good win. First half would get football stopped, second half we grew into the game massively and throttled Arbroath. Perversely the injuries meant we had to be more attacking and it made the difference. That all said, Arbroath were complete and utter dug meat. Can only beat what’s in front of you though, and we did.
  12. Oh I wish I had your optimism. I think it’s going to be a very difficult night. We are devoid of confidence and cohesion throughout the spine of our team. Maybe the change of manager at Arbroath will lift us rather than them. We do need to win one of the next two games or things really start to feel a bit dark.
  13. Well, that wasn’t lucky for Rovers tonight was it? Their recruitment in the summer far superior to ours. Bloody gutting that is. :(
  14. That’s some ex Pars back 3 that 👀
  15. It’s getting to the point now it’s beyond luck for them. They’re a decent side, are playing well, and right now look a better team than us - certainly more consistent and clinical. We need them to have an off day and for us to have a good 90+ minutes, and hopefully we can give them a result that knocks them for a bit, and gives us something to kick on with.
  16. I’m away down south for this weekend anyways so bit annoyed won’t be there, however if I was home, I’d go. £20 isn’t that bad. Could have been a hell of a lot worse. Probably get around 5000 there. Wonder what kind of attendance it could have been with a £10/£5 entry point? Would it have got to the 10k mark? Certainly wouldn’t have been cost effective with the added policing and stewarding costs, so we are where we are.
  17. I agree sadly. Mehmet has returned to type from where he was in Championship first time round with us, and Sharp no better. Last season we rarely saw any errors in goal. Already I can count 5 which have led to a goal. All because Bene not in the team? Nah. Striker wise we are found wanting. Wighton has games with little to no presence about him. Jakubiak looks like he struggles with endproduct, McCann I think suffers from lack of game intelligence to be in the right place often enough, then suffers from lack of composure when he does get there. MAYBE with Todd and KRH up and running some of these issues iron themselves out and it’s all been about service. I fear not however. We can be half decent but right now we are destined for 7th/8th. Sort those two issues out and we’ll make top end playoffs. easy enough eh? 🫣
  18. Oh we’ll get well over that I think. if it was a non TV game I reckon we’d have seen 8000+ looking forward to it and hoping against hope we can get a win.
  19. Very hard to disagree with any of that.
  20. Bratwurst for dinner 🌭 🇩🇪 Also saw Sheffield United scouts in the stand possibly looking at Ewan Otoo, chequebook in hand. Premiership here we…. 🤫 🫣😉
  21. Stick a £10 adult ticket entry price and fill the feckin place.
  22. See this is what confused me too. Both at Tannadice and Dens, it’s the same security company who employ what I can only describe as the most stringent little Nazi gits ive ever had misfortune to encounter at football grounds. I presume they were all briefed to give their entitled friends from Ibrox a much easier time than the rest of us would get, probably because the Rangers fans would kick off a lot more than we mere diddy team supporters would do. For so many of these things to get past security at Dens demonstrates a total failure on their part.
  23. A* Alliteration Amigo!!! 👏 although more chance me marrying Miss Brazil and having 5 kids with her, than either of the old firm getting points taken off them 😂
