  1. Regular board meeting on a Tuesday is there not? Might find out more in the next couple days what the plan is for hiring?
  2. Hahaha, im always telling my jambos mates they are rangers light. I went into the old robbos bar before a celtic game at tynecastle (I lived on gorgie road) and fans were having a sash bash and trying to sell me red hand of ulster with a hearts badge. My jambo mates hate that stuff. This video emerging is fantastic
  3. Not helping themselves with it at the foundation of hearts open day apparently
  4. Would like to keep good people who are competent at their roles tbh
  5. I would put you down as chief PR man. An Alistair Campbell style spin Doctor. If we are going to get relegated we might as well go down trolling.
  6. I have noticed him on FB etc arguing with people on football groups about the pars and he does sort of drop hints about knowing things without going into specifics(which tbh I don't really have a problem with). The loss stuff was sort of out there, and I guessed as a fan around 800 quid would be around our top end so I'm not fussed about that. If the Robertson thing is true he's stepped over the line and put his dad in a **** position. It also looks like we might have not asked for applications again which people wernt happy about last time. The leaks stuff is annoying, stuff that shouldn't be put into the public domain seems to be getting put out there. But other stuff which I think should be maybe out there isn't/wasn't until further down the line or not at all.
  7. Aye there leaks all over the place tbh. Iain seems like a nice guy from the times I have spoken to him. A bit pish he's now in this situation.
  8. Petrie has a decent job in the bank which will include pension, shares and other perks. Plus a second wage from Montrose on top. Out of interest how much do people on here think a Dunfermline manager will get paid a year? I reckon around 40k,maybe 50k top end. His wage from the bank itself is probably likely to be more on its own with the other perks and his montrose wages. Obviously there's no harm in talking to him though
  9. Rovers are without half a team and we hardly created any chances (did any count as clear cut chances?), pretty poor performance overall and a bad time to be a Pars in honesty
  10. 3 goals in the league at home. 1 was a fluke by thomas against killie, one was a last gasp equaliser they should have seen out and a peach tonight, all and all it isn't good enough. I was also baffled by the subs tonight. Rovers have the slowest centre halfs in the league and we decide instead of piling on pace while they pushed up for the equaliser we went for a like for like with Todorov. Berra was brutal on the ball tonight and we didnt press him. Im not sure how Dow stayed on the park either. I told my sister when Rovers made their sub and took off a guy at 5 foot and put on a 6 footer they will start punting balls in (not rocket science) and it caused complete panic. Then we didn't close the ball at all for the shot for the goal
  11. I think planning for league 1 a quarter of the way into the season is a bit much tbh. But you are right we need to turn things around rapid and get points on the board. I went to one of the meetings too. From my perspective I'm skeptical about anyone coming into scottish football and I'm naturally suspicious. I asked Ross a question in the foyer around ongoing costs and was satisfied with the answer when I put him on the spot. The investors to me came across well and they seem like genuine people. However, I'm not sure they know what they are getting into or how brutal scotish football can be. I think they thought they were taking over this nice family friendly community owned provincial club (which it is/was) they can make into a project for youth development but its much more than that. They need to learn quick. I know the board member you are referring to and heard the stories. I assume we hang about in roughly the same circles/the toon so it will he the same stories. I'm worried its becoming a but of a distraction though I general though.
  12. I agree with the recruitment side of things but I think off the park they are in way more of a mess. On the park is the most important thing though and a relegation would set us back years. Hopefully we have time to turn it round this season. Next year in league 1 will be difficult. If queens win it, then you have Cove and kelty who are decent part time teams. Falkirk and airdrie who are full time and montrose are pretty decent too. On the Germans I know that they have already been talking about more communication with fans. I think more will come out about that in the next couple of weeks as Roy Barry fan club mentioned on another thread. I think they have been a bit frustrated not being more hands on here with the covid stuff tbh. And I think we would have had more supporters council too which is the main avenue for normal fans to ask questions to the board. I think they want to do more than the supporters council though and more regularly.
  13. I'm getting a few beers in and watching it tonight. Seen a few clips and read the pie and bovril thread. Seems like box office stuff
  14. I don't have a problem with the Newcastle fans tbh. Infact I quite like them, cracking night out and been to a few games down there (mostly in the away end tbf)
  15. Sorry for starting a thread on English fitbaw but this has been a hot topic for a few days. Now the Saudis have taken over at Newcastle it seems that the wagons are circling with the premier league clubs now voting to potentially put a block on sponsorship for Newcastle. The story itself has created a debate within football around ownership, firstly with sovereign states(or entities related to them) being involved in football and around taking money from jurisdictions steeped in humans rights issues. For me it seems the horse is already bolted with Man city as an example (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchester_City_F.C._ownership_and_finances) where there is various accusations of money coming from the state in a roundabout way, money laundering and human rights issues. From my perspective I think it opens up the debate of the role of football administrators is society in general. For years here we have seen the SFA/FA and UEFA try to become the moral crusaders on ownership with their fair and proper persons schemes and on a similar note trying to tackle things like racism and sectarianism(both the SFA and UEFA have been tied in knots around songs and had to back down with token fines). All of these things to me seem like societal problem and although football bodies have a role to play I don't think football administrators should be given the responsibility to resolve these problems, they don't have the skillset and lets face it at least one of the organizations I named above is morally bankrupt anyway(you can decide which). So in the past few days it's been left to the football administrators to decide if someone should be allowed to take over a business. If the unqualified football body decided they couldnt then they can just invest in another business in the UK if they wanted. Perhaps the government should be the ones being much more proactive about looking into where money coming into the UK is coming from across all industries(London is NO 1 in the world for money laundering) and coming up with a fit for purpose scheme across all industries O way that might feck up our arms deals with the Saudis......
  16. Heard about the players getting stolen thing. Rovers have also made digs in their statements on that subject. In saying that when fife's elite academy is wound up with our own academy now(we put the most money in) where are they going to produce those players from? 1- we need to do better in bringing players through 2- **** Rovers
  17. No they wouldn't be. There's no (immigration) points for potential. I still think though that Scotland is an untapped resource for football talent. The country is football daft, but it's almost as if its discouraged by the government and left to the likes of commercial enterprises to train them up. When you live in a cut throat league like us you can't put systems in place thinking 5/10 years down line. The problem with what the investors want to put in place is the competition on our door step. We have 3 cities with football clubs less than an hour away who can steal the best players when we spend time and develop talent. It's difficult. I hope I'm proven wrong obviously
  18. I'm disappointed it's in the public domain. I thought he might go tbh and its looking likely that it will happen. Selfishly I want him him stay. But from a human level I don't think he deserves all this hassle and might be better for him to step away.
  19. correct, i'm just giving context to Piracys reply he wasnt telling people not to discuss it. I agree it should be in the public domain along with other stuff and folk have decided its in the better interests to make it known by the look of things.
  20. Its kinda funny the way things are working, complete ****ing nonsense seems to be getting leaked all the time for months and stuff like this and some other stuff should be leaked so people get get a bit of context around statements etc loads of stuff doesn't seem to reach the light of day mostly. I would say thats maybe the source of the leaks picking and choosing whats out there for reasons I can guess The director involved asked for it not to be common knowledge
  21. Get back the the games you. You are exactly the type of person we need back around the club
