The team had great character back then and was much better than the overspending of the Masterton/Yorkston regime. It got good again under Bert Paton for a while also. Football has changed these days, where familiarity becomes the norm. I remember 16500k for a Saturday Cup game with Aberdeen that we should have won. Wonder what the same fixture would bring now?
