Al k
Punted by Ayr. Seems a bizarre statement by the chairman. Ayr chairman David Smith said the decision to part with the 52-year-old came "with real regret". Pointing to the behaviour of some fans, he told his club website: "Nobody deserves any form of abuse, it is never justifiable and we urge supporters to challenge this type of behaviour whenever they see or hear it." The Ayr chairman added that "it is undeniable that the club is unrecognisable from the one Lee walked in to over two years ago and this is testament to his work throughout his time as head coach". Smith said Bullen had consistently met the club targets - including "generating a significant player sale for the first time in many years" - while the relationship with the club`s academy "has never been stronger". Digs
Going by what he's said, it sounds like Bullen told them to ram it as he'd had enough of the abuse. Why else would they go on to praise him like that? Seems odd.

Why else would they go on to praise him like that? Seems odd. It is a quite bizarre statement and perhaps just an excuse to avoid saying he'd been sacked due Ayr's perilous league position. They were in danger of going down when Bullen arrived but he kept them up and they finished as runners up to Dundee last season, in an incredibly tight league. The truth will come out at some point, Digs, but I think it's more likely the chairman has panicked. They looked very decent last time they were at EEP. parsforlife
Never understand why clubs drift from the PR template of 'x has left the club, we thank them for their efforts and are currently recruiting a suitable replacement' Not seen a good example yet when going off script, they nearly always create more questions than answers. As for the sacking, they have 1 win from 11, that's a very hard record for anyone to survive.

Surprised he’s not got another job yet, I was under the impression he chose to leave Dundee thinking he was due another chance in England

scottyboy
Sounds like they've signed a name. Good player, not sure he management material. I'm happy with that, as I reckon it'll weaken them.
