Superally Posted October 23, 2023 Report Share Posted October 23, 2023 After two straight defeats the Pars head to the San Starko to face rivals Raith Rovers in what becomes a key fixture. McPake has been blessed that he has developed a squad that for the first time has suffered two consecutive defeats and in facing high flying Raith there is a strong possibility that it could be three. Undeniably there has been investment at the San Starko where Raith have had a stellar start to the season beaten only once and are proving to real challengers to Championship favourites Dundee Utd. They have recruited well and while not overly prolific in front of goal they have a sound defence wining five games, drawing two and losing one. Although after Saturday’s postponement their last outing against league leaders Utd ended in a draw leaving them in a strong second place. The Pars still recovering from a significant injury crisis did manage to bring players back but Saturdays performance especially in the first half was utterly chaotic. While there was 2nd half improvement it was still below the standard we expect to see at EEP. McPake will have a job on this week to raise confidence not only in the players but also the fans who will be looking for a robust performance. Despite the rip off prices (£24) a big crowd will likely head through and they will expect a more organised and improved performance but I’m not so sure of an away win.
