The Pars v The Arabs

Recommended Posts

No real weakness in our overall play. Yes, United were dung but let's all acknowledge how well we took those 3 goals. The incisive play, the positional awareness, positional sense of the players and the execution was miles in front of what we've produced so far this season. You can see how a full squad would have really benefitted us in this league, but that's irrelevant, it's sleeves rolled up for the remaining games.

Against a club that are favourites to win the title we have had a real hix over them this season, they only drew their first game because of a extra time goal. It was also Mochrie at the death to score their winner at the previous outing at EEP. 0-0 draw it could be argued we had the opportunities to win that game as well. That win was coming but it will mean nothing unless we can get wins against teams like Arbroath, ICT and Ayr etc. Still we have good reason to feel optimistic with returning players. COYP

Brilliant performance, can’t believe that’s a team at top of the league they were absolutely awful. All credit to us we played them off the park and well deserved win. Could we go on a run like we did under AJ and make top 4? Will be tough but you just never know. The difference Bene makes at the back is unbelievable too, lets our midfield be stronger with Hamilton and Otoo and tbh everyone played great last night. Glad for KRH after 3 injuries he had a performance like that

Nah, I can't agree with your opening sentence, KP. United are the best team in this league and will be promoted. That they didn't play so well last night was down to the way the Pars played. If we had sat back and admired them, they would have buried us. But we didn't. We got in about them from the start, scored an early goal. Gave our players a lot of confidence and theirs an uphill task.

Our tactics were different, too. No playing sideways at the back. Mehmet launched every kickout/goal kick over halfway. In summary, you can only play as well as your opponents allow you to.

There’s a real pleasure to be had when watching your team put on a show on TV in a pub when you’re not in Scotland.   Gives you a right good glow.  ☺️

United will win this league, and so they should, they have the best players.  We utterly did them last night, they were ****e because we made them so.

So pleased for McPake, and he finally out and said it re injuries and the impact.  I’ve been saying it for long enough, last season he had options and some of his best work done was in changing games with personnel.  He simply hasn’t had that much of that this season.  And that’s really exposed his weaknesses and stubbornness.  Doesn’t make him a bad manager, like many he will struggle when he doesn’t have the tools.  Now he does so it’s a bit more of an even playing field for him.

But a note of caution - coming up are Morton who are a very different kettle of fish.  Their physical attributes and style have much more of a challenge to us than Uniteds style.   Should we perform like last night then we will win, but if Morton get under our skin then it’s a problem.  Good news is Oakley will be out injured for them which is a huge miss.

Time for that late promotion play off run now… 😉

Erm, let's fight to stay up. Ayr doing the business v ICT just now, although some might prefer a draw. A 4 point gap between us just now. Get a 7 point space and they are some other teams problem. Great result and performance last night, lets no get carried away just yet and ma glass is always overflowing.

After doing a great deal of hard work for the Rovers they are not doing the job today. Disappointing really.

Not at all, **** them and their "fans" no cartoon today on twitter and they'll all be back to moaning again about how Murray is useless and tatics are rubbish. Really are a strange bunch and can't see the great season they've had or how much they've moved on as a club.

Results weren't too bad for us today. To be 3pts further ahead of ICT after back to back games against the top two. Not grumbling at that.

I said we played them off the park?
